I just want to point out that unlike the Broncos, the Chiefs had to identify their “top 5 QB” through the draft, which was led by Brett Veach, and trade all the way up from 27 to get him.

Whether it’s Manning or the idea of getting Rodgers, your organization and GMs expect to be handed a top 5 QB.

What’s more difficult?

Of course, you also likely get that KC got Baltimore's 2nd rounder back in the Brown deal, which we used to select Nick Bolton.

He didn't even have to deal with Manning or Brady (except for 1 year of Brady).

I mean, Veach was the guy that identified and pounded the table for Mahomes. Fortunately, Reid was on board as well, after Veach got him to KC to meet Reid.

The guy that was fourth on the organizational ladder "led the way".

This revisionist history you guys tell about Reach is hilarious. He probably did like him a lot, but so did Ballard, Dorsey and Reid. If they didn't like Mahomes it wouldn't have mattered how much Veach liked him, the Chiefs wouldn't have drafted him.

I think the Broncos went on a massive losing streak after that and the Chiefs were looking ridiculously good. I just lost interest in Keesum very quickly, and other than watching the games on Sunday, really didn't feel like keeping up with the team as closely as I had in the past.

It’s well documented and backed up by everybody from Reid, to Pat’s team, and Texas Tech, but you’re welcome to deny reality that doesn’t fit your narrative.

Let wait and see if Paton can get them from picking Top 10 before we anoint him as some super GM that could have won more SBs.

How about we expand it to the last 10 years of drafts.

Because Denver has had tons of chances to get and develop their own QB and can't do it.
