Matt Cassel: Good or Bad?

We may as well have an easy point of reference for people to be able to come back and eat their crow when this all pans out. Everyone always says I knew it all along. Step up and put it down.

I don't think a 2nd round pick is terrible, but I don't think Matt Cassel will pan out in KC. I'll put it down right here, right now. And now I'll start praying I'm wrong.

Forget the trade. The only thing I want you to commit too is whether or not Cassel is a good or bad choice for QBOTF.

I trust them, yes disappointed, but trust that they made the right choice. Besides, according to NE fans, be prepared for WTF and man that stings trades, signings or cuts. That is just the way the operate, they operate to build a winning team. Not to please us fans with loveable roster players...

Cassel at $15 mil achieved half of what Brady did with the same supporting cast.
Thigpen's stats were equivalent to Cassel's even though KC was ranked #31 in total offense in 2007 and NE was ranked #1 ALL TIME IN NFL HISTORY.
Cassel is being paid $15 million and Thigpen $400,000.

One of these QBs is a proven leader. One stepped into the perfect success story and qualified as average.

And yet that one that stepped into the perfect situation, couldnt elevate anyones game around him, couldnt hit the broad side of a barn and disappeared in 2nd halfs of games...

sorry dude, but thigpen sucks and obviously our coaching staff and GM didnt feel the need to check with you before going out and getting the QB that they wanted....

We replaced a shitty underdog with a slightly above average underdog.

That's to much to handle man, imagine if we had a really talented team, half the base would turn on em.

The idea that Cassel isn't SIGNIFICANTLY better than Thigpen is crazy.

Forget TD's and INT's. Both had a TD percentage of 4.1, both had INT percentages under 3.

Matt Cassel's yards per attempt and average yards per attempt were over 1 full yard more than Thigpen. You might say "Of course, he had Moss and Welker".

Well, look at it this way. KC RB's and TE's combined for 163 receptions. New England had just 112. Matt Cassel threw downfield CONSIDERABLY more often. And yet his completion percentage was ELEVEN points better than Thigpen.

You're reading the wrong boxscores.

Go out to Pro Football Reference, look at their FULL stats, and then come back and tell us how Thigpen and Cassel were equivalent.

Because they weren't.
