We are starting to see some people saying Josh Allen is/will be better than Patrick Mahomes. I think it’s ridiculous, but there are people that feel that way. I was wondering if anyone here would choose Josh over Mahomes. So the choice is simple: who would you rather have as QB for the next 12 years? Allen Or Mahomes?

Oh yeah, dude got all butthurt when everybody called him out for it too. He also had a hissy fit when Mahomes signed his long term deal.

Not really... an entire half of the league probably doesn't spend tons of time watching either one. Then you have recency bias for teams that have played the Bills this season, plus the rest of the AFCE that saw him twice.

And coming up with how Allen is bigger and potentially more durable tells the story of very high level analysis or thinking their ceilings are similar and they think Allen might last longer in the league because Mahomes got hurt that one time last season.

Every good QB will be talked about as "is he the next Mahomes"... and sports media exists to create hype, and they want someone to be Mahomes' rival.

A year ago "sources" were saying Lamar > Mahomes and next year it'll be someone new.

Josh Allen is really good. Playing really well.

Not one GM in the NFL would take him over Mahomes right now.

Allen is taller and a better goal line fullback. That's it.

They both have a rocket arm.

Mahomes also has elite off-platform mechanics, elite spatial awareness and vision, photographic memory, and special creativity or athletic genius, and lightning fast processing.

These are traits that Allen will never have and Bills fans can not even imagine since they know very little about the NFL itself and are insular and depend on their local media to feed them fairytales and hope.

He's been attacking Mahomes and the Chiefs all week...this is just the same tedious tactics he slways uses "go against the favourite and hype up others". This year he's said the Ravens would go 16-0, Tampa are the best team, Green Bay are the best team, Saints are the best team, Chiefs are the best team etc etc. Now it's the bills balls that he's slurping on.

I should say though, that he's had a great season in 2020, and I doubt he'll shit his pants like that again in this year's playoffs.

I wouldn't be surprised if one of the sources was either Mangini or another Patriots employee/former employee.

And last season Mangini made a big deal out of Patrick's dislocated knee. He kept harping on how it showed that Mahomes was too fragile to play for long in the NFL. He even said that the 49ers DL would probably knock Patrick out of the SB, because 'Mahomes is injury-prone,' about a week before the game.

You’re probably right, but it’s hard to take your analysis seriously when you constantly call Allen a 1 read QB when he’s the complete opposite.

For all his issues, and there were several, being a 1 read guy was never one of them. Ever.

And I am fairly certain plenty of Bills fans downplayed Jackson’s success last season with “needs to do it more or in playoffs” and are now saying “see he was overrated” but don’t see the irony that they are doing the exact same thing this season with Allen.
