You mean the series that John Paxton won for the Bulls. Yeah Jordan sure took the big shot in that one.

MJ DOMINATED that series. Yes Pax had the game winning shot but MJ made the Suns his bitch that whole series. After that series Kevin Johnson said he'd see MJ's face in his dreams for life.

I hope we see LeBron do that for a series sometime. That'd be must see TV right there no matter who your team is.

Justify this all you want. Blame it on everyone but the superstar. Of course the supporting cast could have played better, but how can you justify disappearing for that long during that critical stretch?
He doesn't have a score first mentality, that's not his game. But he did have the most points, rebounds, and assists for his team while also being the best defender on the floor. You guys are so quick to criticize him for what he doesn't do that you are missing one of the best all-around players in the history of the league.

Don't be dense. Nobody would ever call Jordan a distributor late in games. Just because he passed the ball off a few times doesn't make him one.

Like I said, the issue I have with LeBron's game today is taking one shot in 6 minutes when the momentum was clearly shifting heavy to the Spurs. That's not what you want out of your star player. You guys can make all the excuses for LeBron as you want, but in the 4th quarter, you can't have the best player in the game disappear like that. MJ may have had cold 4th quarters, but on the rare occasion that happened, you can bet he was shooting.

The reason I keep bringing up MJ is that when you're the best player in the game, you have to set the bar to play like the best. LeBron played with an MJ killer instinct in Indiana. That was missing today in the 4th. It's only one game. But that doesn't mean anyone should make excuses.

I am not the person in this thread who said Parker played better, and I said all game long that LeBron was playing the right game. I am also not one of those people who says Kobe is better.

I am criticizing his 4th quarter performance. When you are the best player in the league, you get held to a higher standard, and that 4th quarter does not meet those standards. By the time he decided to take control, it was too late.

You've gotta be kidding with this. This is worse than all the people bagging on LeBron. I'm pretty sure that record still holds up for best finals performance ever. And I'm pretty sure the 55 point game he dropped following the triple OT loss is the only 50+ point game in the NBA finals in the last 40 years or so. That might have been Jordan at his apex.

It wasn't the best quarter of his career. I think he could have been more assertive when he came back into the game at the 9 minute mark (why he was even on the bench at the same time with Wade, I'm sure). But nobody should act as if he's to blame for the Heat loss today. He was by far the best player on the floor and the only reason they were even in the game at the end. If the Heat are asking LeBron to be much better than that every game in this series, they won't win it. Not against a team as good as the SAS.

This is the response I'm looking for. ESPN has it right -- his performance was a B+ tonight. The Indiana series looked like a new LeBron was emerging. You want to see more of Indiana LeBron. If he does that, regardless of the supporting cast, the Heat are going to be a ridiculously tough matchup.

By the way LeBron's 10 assits tonight lead to 24 points by the Heat. Between LeBron's scoring and passing he helped get 42 points tonight for the Heat.

Parker had 6 assits and the Spurs got 13 points off that. 34 would be his total.

Also ESPN Stat off Twitter
4th time Heat have lost a Game 1 in the Bosh/James/Wade Era. Heat went on to sweep the next 4 games in each of the previous 3 instances

I don't think they will do that to San Antonio though, but thats a crazy stat.

The Heat played the first three quarters near flawlessly, as far as taking care of the basketball. They had four turnovers in the first three quarters, and they were shooting 48.3 percent. They were winning 72-69, and they were at home, and they had LeBron James. What could go wrong?

Dwyane Wade could go wrong. Chris Bosh could go wrong. Mario Chalmers. Mike Miller. Norris Cole. That quintet of players -- who played well in Game 1, the box score will suggest -- were terrible in the fourth quarter. That quintet took 11 shots in the fourth quarter and missed 10 of them. LeBron had more rebounds in the quarter (seven) than that quintet had in 32 total minutes (two). He had more points (six) than those five players (two). He had as many assists (one).

Just LeBron. One guy.

Of course, the Heat need more than one-man show LeBron to win a series against a team this good. They just barely got by Indiana that way. It won't work again.
