I'd be surprised if another team hit that many 3s against KU again (15) and if KU has that many fouls called against them again this year (31).

What a game! Sucks we lost but that was a hell of a start to the season.

KU never looks that good to start the year. Hopefully we can continue the normal improvement arc from this starting point.

Mason is a monster. Hopefully Self pulls him for some rest.

Graham is developing some leadership I think. He certainly brings intensity.

Nice to see Svi contributing.

Josh Jackson looks really good. Really good. He wasn't horribly out of position on D and looked comfortable on O. He's not the freak Wiggins was but hopefully he's more consistent.

Great game, but we are probably starting out 0-2. Which is OK. Knock us out of the top rankings for awhile. Get the guys hungry. But it didn't look like intensity was a problem.

I think this is going to be the first team in a while free of egregious shit that makes you want to pull your hair out. Everyone seems very focused and very smart. The only guy that gives me pause is Bragg. He seems liable to pull a Tyshawn Taylor or a Wayne Selden "What the **** was that?" stunt.

For the record, I am not saying Tyshawn or Selden weren't great 90% of the time.

Probably going to start 0-2. But Im still very encouraged. Lots of heart out there tonight. Need to get better in the paint. I actually want to see Lightfoot as a sparkplug min a game to bring some energy. Nonetheless Ind shot 49% from 3, hit 15 of them. Thats what they do. 3 pt shooting teams just beat u when they are on.

This team has no D.

It's early, but they're gonna need to D up.

Indiana has a potent offense. For the 1st game facing a really good offense, they played overall pretty good defensively. Much progress still to go, but a solid foundation for them to work from.

Foul trouble with even more rules, or should I say stricter enforcement, this year is going to present a challenge.

Rebounding presence has me more worried long term for this team's level of success.

Agreed. Our defense was better than theirs and their offense is oustanding and ours is meh.

Best thing about it is the young guys didn't get out of position much, they need to get a boxout and the D will be pretty solid.

It will be interesting to see how this team matches up in the small lineup with teams with legit height. It may not be in the cards.

Do you know who I miss? Releford. He had to play the 4 position while dudes where in foul trouble and locked it down. If KU had a versatile defender that defended as well as Releford on this small lineup, this team would rape.

Puke favored -3.5

If we lose we fall to 1-5 in the "Champions" classic. They'll have to think about replacing us in the rotation with someone who can compete, and we can just go back to our little corner of the world in the Plains where we can dominate little people

To be fair we've always gone up against the best team in the champions classic.

Should be a fun game tonight. I'm expecting a loss and to start the season 0-2, but these early season games don't really matter much.

I'd be all over that -3.5 line. Kennard and Allen can put up points in a hurry but as long as we can put a lengthy defender such as Jackson, Svi or Vick on them they shouldn't be able to shoot over us as easy as vs some teams.

I think we have as good of a chance as any to beat them tonight. Tatum, Giles, and Bolden won't play.

Tatum was ranked #3 by Rivals, Giles #2, and Bolden #11.

Duke just pulling in the haul with recruiting classes lately. This one definitely should be better than Kentucky's even.

Let us remember though, Duke was 25-11 last year. And they lost Brandon Ingram, the 9th Plumlee and Derrick Thornton. At this point of the season, hard to say they are much improved from that without their star freshman.

KU looked good against Indiana on offense but their transition D was awful. Bill Self will get that fixed but it will take some time. Lucas didn't look as good as he was at the end of last season. Josh Jackson looks like a freshman. KU usually starts slow like this so this is not surprising. In Self we trust.
