Was he kind of treated unfairly? You could certainly argue that, but since he’s not black, nobody looks twice at it.

Players reportedly aren’t happy either. Didn’t really hear that about Flores. If anything, sounds like their young QB was relieved.

It’s never about the substance/context though. It’s all about narrative.
Bisaccia was an interim head coach and the gm got fired.

Lovie Smith was with the Bears for almost a ****ing decade!

The Bears just hired a black GM!

How the **** can they or the Lions be examples of racism in any way?

You yourself have argued that Nagy was treated unfairly. Why is it that even though they’ve shown they will treat both white and black HCs unfairly, you go to racism with the black guy?

It’s hilarious that you can’t think about this stuff critically. It’s all emotion.

Staley was a strange hire but analytics and pie charts are a growing segment of the game. The Chargers hierarchy probably thought they were ahead of the curve by hiring Staley. It is a catch 22. If the Chargers go conventional and fail, fans (all 12 of them) whine about not thinking outside the box.

And a good chunk of obtaining jobs is interviewing well. Laying out the future and what you can bring to the position.

Anthony Lynn was their previous head coach. A conventional hire. Didn't work out.

Doesn’t matter. He’s a minority and he got his team to the playoffs despite all of the shit they had to deal with! Clearly RACISM!!!

Amazing how you understand context when they aren’t black. It’s almost as if that was the point to begin with.

Now do it with Caldwell and Smith like I just did!

He coached there for 9 years and missed the playoffs in 5 of his last 6 years. His team started 7-1 and then crashed. He was rightfully fired.

Math boy gave them the same ****ing result as the "conventional" head coach. And you could argue the Chargers would have gone to the playoffs if they had kept Lynn instead of hiring math boy.

Both guys couldn't do shit with a loaded roster (on paper) and a pretty damn good QB.

Point is, Bisaccia accomplished something that no interim coach had done in 60 years by making the playoffs.

Someone could easily argue that he was unfairly denied the permanent position.

If he was black, the outrage would have been magnificent from some quarters. As it stands now, there was some anger from the media.

The Raiders wanted a hire with more potential. Is that a move with foresight or a sign of a dismal franchise? Time will tell. But regardless of Bisaccia's skin color, he wasn't obtaining the permanent role. Not after the two KC blowouts.

Flores: 'In certain critical ways, the NFL is racially segregated and is managed much like a plantation.

I used to respect the hell out of him for the job he did in Miami but he's just another millionaire biting the hand that fed him with BS claims. Screw this guy. I hope the NFL countersues the s*** out of him if he can't produce evidence.

Doug Pederson won a ****ing SB faster than Andy Reid did in Philly or KC and he was fired within like 5 years.

Since he’s white, who gives a ****, right?

Coaches of all colors have been treated unfairly throughout history.

Remember when David Toub was a HC candidate? What happened to that? It’s just understood that ST coordinators becoming a HC is kind of rare.

You know what else is kind of rare? A guy who’s specialty is RBs becoming a HC in the modern NFL. Aside from holding Andy Reid’s clipboard, that’s all he’s done at this level. Coach RBs.

How’d that workout for the Chargers with Anthony Lynn?

How’d Anthony Lynn do with the Lions this year his first time being a legit OC calling plays?

I honestly wouldn’t want EB to be the HC of the Chiefs. It has nothing to do with race either.

I'm really surprised that he didn't get the offer. He seemed to steer that team through a lot of turmoil pretty well. And now with a new coach he'll likely be out of a job even at his old position.

Well yeah, I am talking about why they hired him not the outcome of results. He blew the playoffs chasing formulas. No one is denying that.

I imagine he is on a short leash and if his stubborn insistence to analytics cost the Chargers another playoff spot his termination shall follow.

The losses to KC sealed his fate. The road to the Super Bowl in the AFC runs through Arrowhead. Getting destroyed both times cost him. As much as I enjoyed the run to the playoffs, it was blessed with COVID luck and won by narrow margins. The team won six games this year on the last play. That is not sustainable. Throw in that he would have kept the same staff of Gruden's buddies and the 2022 season looks like 7-10 at best.

If the team down the stretch won handily, the job is probably his going away. His biggest attribute was keeping a calm head in stormy weather.
