Worthy seems to fit our team better and can play everywhere and seems better with the ball in his hands .

Hopefully he gets to see both in throwing sessions because if he does.... He will notice the guy who is 40 lbs heavier is the better football player.

Is he?
Plenty of teams need WRs. In the top 10, the Bears, Commanders, Cardinals, Patriots, Chargers, Giants, Falcons, and Jets could all feasibly take one if some of them decide not to go OL or QB. I'd say it's a lock the top 3 WRs go in the top 9 picks. After those, the Colts at 15, Bengals at 18, Texans at 23 are all easy possibilities. You also have trade-up possibilities by the Bucs, Cardinals (if they don't take one at 4), Bills, Ravens, and Chiefs. Those guys went at 22 and 23. If a team wants a downfield playmaker to compliment their #1 because they have one (like the Colts if they re-sign Pittman, the Bengals, the Texan, the Bills, etc) then they are likely to want Worthy over Thomas Jr, Mitchell, Franklin etc. That's why I have been saying now for a day that there is a great shot he's the 4th WR taken. I'd almost bet on it. Almost. |

Bruh, what's your hate for smaller receivers that are fast as all get out? You have seen what Andy Reid has done with a couple of guys named Tyreek Hill and Desean Jackson, right?

This team absolutely struggled, and struggled hard at WR. This is not a deep top end for tackles, but it sure as shit is top heavy with receivers. I would much rather trade up for Brian Thomas Jr., or another receiver with big time production in college, against top competition, and pick up a stopgap veteran tackle, like Smith from last year, than I would draft a tackle and hope a second or third day receiver isn't the second coming of Skyy Moore. Also, there really are some tackles in the later rounds. Creed was drafted in what, the 3rd round. I know there were questions about health, but Trey was like a 6th round pick, right? |

We would be mad not to take a WR. It's easily the best group and rhe chance of getting a really, really good player at 32, or a slight trade up is excellent. Can't say the same for any other position imo. I know it's also deep at WR, but let's not overcomplicate this.

There's also an argument to say that the 2nd round WRs available for the Chiefs will be much better than the 2nd round WRs the year Skyy or Rice were taken. The amount of talent WR wise in this draft does not only affect the 1st round. |

Rice isn't Tyreek Hill, and the supporting cast isn't even Pringle & Robinson, that's how bad they are. If we move up and grab a big time receiver, we can have the next 5 years on a rookie deal. Imagine having a Jefferson or Chase level receiver for the next 5 years, without the cap hit. Having Rice, who already looks the part, paired with another big time receiver makes losing Kelce in 2 years easier. Look how moving up for McDuffie worked out. Imagine that level of excellence, but on the offensive side. Man, Clay said he didn't want Mahomes to get hurt, so draft a tackle, but I bet if you asked Mahomes, he would say get me that stud to throw to. |

I would be fine with a small trade up, but outside the top 3 (Harrison, Nabers, Odunze), I just don't think there are any guarantees that the guy is "big time". I am not even convinced a trade up increases the chances of getting an elite guy, this draft has "pro bowler who went at the back of the 2nd round" written all over it. I also wasn't agreeing with Clay that we should take a tackle instead, I was agreeing with Staylor, you don't want to be locked in on "we have to get X in the first round". No one is arguing that the offense / receiving core does not need to get better. But a competent veteran and a 2nd round WR would still be a pretty decent leap forward from last years offense, the team does not "need" a Jefferson to continue the current success. |

Did you watch the Raiders game? Did you watch other games where a penalty would get us well behind the sticks and kill drives? That happened over and over again, at least in the first half of the season. I don’t think this is a draft where it makes sense to be aggressive in trading up for a WR. But if Veach felt the need to do so, I’d feel fine with it given that it means they really, REALLY rated that guy higher than anyone else because it’s absolutely not their MO with a stacked WR class like this. |
