So, what’s this Sneed trade gonna end up being?

Since we know this thing is coming down in the next few days.

What’s the predictions? Not what you want, but what you think the details end up being?

Sneed and #32 for #15.

That puts the value of Sneed at #44. Indy still gets a pick in the first round and has their 2nd round pick. The Chiefs get a chance at a LT that falls. Sign Brown in FA, grab a LT at 15 and then go WR in the 2nd.
I would prefer that option because I know Veach is gonna wanna trade up anyways.

Unlikely for sure though.

I'd like this, but for a WR in the 1st round. This team has been fine with getting OL talent from pretty much everywhere. This is a historic draft for WR and I would love to get one of the top guys. At 15 you can do that.

Isn't trading down 17 spots in the 1st FAR more value than giving up pick 46? I guess I could be less lazy and look up the draft pick things, but I think that's a far worse deal for Indy than giving up 46 would be so I'm not sure why they'd prefer it unless they feel like there won't be trade partners in the 15 range.

And if that's the case...who do we really want to get up there and get? If there's someone we'd want, stands to reason there'd be someone that the rest of the league would be happy to trade up for as well.

From a pure value perspective, that wouldn't make a lot of sense to me.

EDIT: Looks like the values are roughly equal by both the 'conventional' calculator and the more modernized Rich Hill chart. So shows what I know. And I'd personally rather have the pick in the mid 40s (so I guess that's why Indy might not want to give it up for the same reasons).

I just don't see a ton of value in moving up to 15. Maybe it will turn out that we beat the drop-off, but I'm not so sure. I don't see a set and forget style LT likely to be there. I don't see an obvious HR fit at WR unless someone really likes Brian Thomas Jr. So unless we used Sneed to get up to 15 and then our 2nd to get up to 9, it seems like we're just moving up to move up.

But if we could get that latter scenario done and get Fashanu at 9, I'd probably call the whole thing a wortwhile exercise. We'd have precisely dick at WR at that point (unless we signed Brown) but I think we'd have a letter perfect long-term LT.

Depends on how you define 'top guys'.

To me that's 3 dudes and they'll all be long gone by 15. Then Thomas and then I guess Franklin.

But I just can't get over the fact that after Thomas, there IS no consensus top guy. Some say Franklin, others Mitchell and hell I've seen McConkey there. It tells me that they're all really similarly situated. And I wouldn't even be terribly excited about the idea of Mitchell at 32. I certainly don't see Franklin as a top 15 pick.

If you're locked in at WR there, I can only see Thomas being a worthwhile consideration. The rest are guys I'd just wait at 32 and sift through. Or maybe even wait until 64.

You'd probably have to jump the Bears at 9.

I don't know that you can make that trade right now.

Probably 8? But there's a non-zero chance he goes 7. I wouldn't call it likely but if 3 QBs go, plus Alt, the other 3 WRs could go in that top 7 as well.

Crow loves him.

I don't think I'm moving up to 15 for him, though. He looks more like a fighter than a technician to me. I think he'll probably stick at OT but more of a RT than a LT and maybe just a really damn good OG long-term.

I'm not as high on him as some. I just don't quite see the athleticism and technique to thrive as a LT here and I don't want to give up that kind of capital for a RT or OG.

To be completely safe, I think you'd have to get to 4 ahead of the Chargers...at that point, you'd take MHJ.

I don't think he's married to Odunze. Just thinking he's the guy that will be left standing after MHJ, Nabers, Alt and the top 3 QBs.

If the Chiefs believe Morris is an NFL caliber starting LT, screw it - go ahead and overpay to get Brown in here.

And then if you want to, make that move up with the Colts for Brian Thomas Jr.

Because a virtually free LT would be a cheat code for this team.

I simply don't believe he is so the Chiefs need to keep a few more arrows in their quiver to address that probability.

Gonna do a mini-mock here. Pick it apart as you wish:

- Chiefs trade CB LJ Sneed to Colts for pick #46.

- Chiefs use newfound money to sign WR Hollywood Brown to a one-year incentive packed deal. They build out their depth with more Tranquill/Mike Edwards-esque signings.

- Chiefs try to trade up and once again no one wants to take their ****ing calls.

- Pick #32: Chiefs select Ladd McConkey, WR, Georgia.

- Pick #46: Chiefs select Darius Robinson, DL, Missouri.

- TRADE: Chiefs flip picks 64 & 95 to the Rams for pick 52.

- Pick #52: Chiefs select Kingsley Suamataia, OT, BYU.
