We sign one top flight CB/DB and a MLB and his defense would work. He was always great at designing blitz. And he was much more aggressive then Bob.
No. Until this season, Bob Sutton had a decent track record of hassling the Patriots. This defense needs to be OVERHAULED. They need new blood and a scheme change.

My fear is that everybody is going to be doing cartwheels when Bob leaves and then the Chiefs announce they are promoting from within.

Please no. I'm done with this brand of defense.

Meh. The Chiefs are always deliberate about these kinds of things. There's really no rush except to keep fans from being on edge. The fact that anything at all leaked about an immediate meeting tells me they want us to know they're looking into it. Until we hear rumblings that they want to keep him, I just assume it's a matter of when...

The Ryan defense has to have so much damn talent to make it work, it's just not feasible.

But you're right, we should let Bob retire because that would be the nice thing to do...and that's what matter in professional sports when you're trying to win a championship.

You might want to, you know, wait to unleash the outrage when they're actually together and HOLDING EACH OTHER ACCOUNTABLE. As for letting Bob retire, that's what good organizations do. You want to treat people like crap? Let's go back to what it was like under Scott Pioli. That seems more to your liking, huh?

As bad as you feel right now, you aren't on this team. You're a fan. They're all at home, icing their wounds, and hugging their wives.

The time for holding Bob Sutton accountable WILL happen. It just might not happen on your timeline.

Exactly. People need to calm down. If they want instant gratification, log off of Chiefsplanet and logon to XVideos or something.

Nah...I'd like to be more like the team that just came in here and snatched our soul.

Everything they do is geared around winning a Super Bowl...from personnel to coaches to game plans....EVERYTHING.

They're cold blooded, relentless, and at times heartless pricks....and you know what? All they do is hang ****ing banners.

Ask yourself this, do you *really" care if the Chiefs are known as a "good organization" if they're hoisting the Lombardi trophy?

I mean seriously...

And when Tom Brady is finally done, they'll go back to being perennially 8-8. They're not good because they're inhuman, they're good because they have Tom Brady.

It's funny, you want the Chiefs to act like the Patriots when one team has been to the AFC Championship 8 straight times and the other has been to ONE since before Ronald Reagan was president.

The Chiefs being a "good" organization is HOW they're going to be hoisting a Lombardi trophy. They need OUTSIDE help. They need to attract free agents and new defensive coaches. The Patriots promote from within. They bring in players that want to win championships. They can get away with doing what they do. The Chiefs can't, at least not yet.

By the way, the SOUL of the Chiefs is Patrick Mahomes. They didn't "snatch" him. In fact, they couldn't even beat him. They had to hope he was on the sidelines in the end. Get a grip man.

What about Marvin Lewis? Andy wants someone who will take the worries of Defense off his shoulders so he can focus on the Offense and mentoring Mahomes. Marvin Lewis was DC for Baltimore in the late 90s, early 2000s, and the LB coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers before that. I know Cincinnati has been a lackluster team when Marvin was there outside of a few years, but he wouldn't have that much on his plate. Andy can do the bulk of press conferences and just leave it all to Marvin to handle.

Also how long is Andy going to realistically be here for? I'm thinking 2-5 years depending on if he has success with Mahomes or if he wants to get out after the first year of Mahomes' contract. Rex Ryan took over after Marvin left so in my opinion it makes just as much sense to take on Marvin Lewis as it does Rex Ryan, and without the creepy foot fetish.

The only question I have about Marvin is; does he still have the heart for the NFL. If that answer is yes, I could be for it.

While I agree with you - I also disagree with you. True - the Chiefs will do whatever the hell they wish to. But for (I hope) the majority of us, that timeline started a couple of years ago. How long exactly, does it take to figure out that what you are doing is definitely NOT working?

Well, that's part of being a fan. What did Carl Peterson say about that?
