Andy Reid wants a back-up QB who can help contribute in the QB room during the week, helping with the game plan and providing support for Mahomes.

Gabbert seemingly will fit that role well as a veteran QB who was in a QB room with Brady the past few years.

Eh Gabbert is a solid veteran backup, and this team has had Mahomes go down in the middle of a playoff game twice now.

By all accounts Gabbert has become an awesome teammate. Would've never expected that.

But Gabbert is a solid backup option.

They feel comfortable having a veteran backup that contributes in game prep.

You know, that was a damn impressive drive given we didn't know when or how effectively Mahomes was going to come back.
