The 2017 Rookie Class is flashing early in Training Camp

Eligwe, Chesson, Hunt, Mahomes, and Kpassignon are all making plays and being talked up by the coaches.

If these guys can all contribute, we're going to be in really great shape going forward.

This! He left us in Great shape though- this team is absolutely ****ing loaded with talent. IMO you have to go back to the Montana years for a Chief's team this balanced. Our rookies are pushing the vets to play. The guys we have brought in are making plays and the D is just ****ing nasty.

The Chiefs are going to be the team Nobody wants to play this year. They will have to pretty much play a perfect game to beat us and if they don't we will be dominating them. This D could be holding teams to under 14 points a game this year if they stay healthy.

If this team should win a SB in the next 3 to 4 years, it will almost certainly be with the core of players that he drafted, and will be part his legacy.

Exactly. It is not just the stars like Peters, Jones and Kelce- it is all the depth players he has brought in. Some of our second stringers would be starters on a lot of teams. This is the deepest team I have seen going into camp. The cut down is going to hurt. We know many of those players won't be out of work long.

Not to burst anyone's bubble but how many years has this rookie euphoria gone on? 10 years, 20 years, 30 years.

What until shit gets real with pads and opponents.

Hope I'm proven wrong.

Dude, this team has averaged 11 wins the past four regular seasons, with many rookies making an instant impact.

The best signing Dorsey made IMO out of all the free agents he signed was Ron Parker. Dude got cut 6 times and he was thought of as just a camp body and now he's a top 5 FS

It wasn't a "signing".

He was claimed off of waivers on cut down day, at a time when the Chiefs had the #1 waiver priority.

I am already on record in the Pats thread as stating I had little hope an Alex led team could go in there and win...

but...

I don't think it will be a cakewalk for them with our D. playing like they have so far in camp. If everyone stays healthy- we could have the best front 7 in the NFL. Look at what the D-line for the Giants did to the Pats in the Superbowl.

When I made that prediction the status of DJ and Houston were still unknown- now they are both back and that makes us pretty hard to beat on that side of the ball. If Alex does not shit his pants- we could upset them.

All I have been seeing are stories about how the Pats are going 19-0 this year- they are not concerned with the Chiefs at all. We are just a small speed bump on their way to another SB. I think their extreme arrogance and overconfidence could be their downfall. At least I hope so.

I have never been a big Parker fan in the past and have posted that many times. He drops easy interceptions and has missed a lot of tackles in the running game allowing big plays. But I think that is all in the past. I have to concede that he seems to have improved every year and there is something really special about the combination of him and Berry that makes them both better players. As one of the more critical posters concerning Parker in the past, I am really hoping he has a huge year. Berry is just so great that I think maybe Parker gets overshadowed by him. We really need Parker to put it all together this year and I think he will.

I don't get why people are freaking out about Dorsey's departure, because we have a guy who was involved with said decisions.

Dorsey drafts players that actually make an impact.

Kielce, Peters, Jones, Hill, Morse. Day 1 contributors.

I never could have imagined an undersized receiver from West Alabama would become a star in his rookie season, and one of the most explosive weapons in the NFL

Dorsey is gone (there's good and bad here) but let's not pretend like we have been a 8-8 also-ran with underperforming rookies. We are an 11-5 type team with very good rookies, but are 1-3 in the postseason.

Mahomes was brought in as the last and most important piece to the puzzle.

Being involved doesn't mean he made those decisions, doesn't mean he controlled those decisions. Huge differences.
