I was the same way with vodka for several years after having one too many bad nights with mccormacks. But now I love the shit...especially Grey Goose.

My first night in college... my roomie had heard I was from Weston... and he knew the name from the bottles of the cheap swill that he usually drank from. So... my first night, I was greeted with HUGE glass of McKormicks bourbon on ice....

Before the evening was over, we were in the front yard... and the last thing I remember was him sayin'... "Dude, don't lay on your back... you don't wanna go out like Bon Scott."

My RA had to walk me home.... one arm on her.. one on anything nearby. Yeah, it was brutal.

That was my first night in college. After that I discovered Pine street, and lasted one whole year. Most nights ended with breakfast in the cafeteria. It was a waste... I was a smart kid, too.

Ahhh, regrets....

At work overnight, so big bottle of Diet Dr. Pepper. When I get home at 8 a.m., it'll be my night and the drink will be Rosemont Estates Shiraz. Or, I have a nice Chateau St. Michelle (from Washington) Cabernet... haven't quite decided yet. Suggestions? Or, screw it all, and hit the Bacardi 151.

Wine in the morning? Guess thats not so odd if you work nights.

I havent tried the one from Washington but you cant really go wrong with Rosemont Shiraz.

The shiraz is incredible. If you like wine, give the Chateau St. Michelle a try -- they've won all kinds of awards. The mother-in-law put me on to them a couple of years ago, and there's ALWAYS something from that vineyard in my wine fridge. Yeah, wine in the morning since it's my night time. The wife's at work, I'll have a few drinks, play a little Madden, then head to bed.

The 2000 Cab won best U.S. wine at one of the big wine shows, if I remember correctly.

I've also really been on a port kick. And a guy down at The Connesieur put me onto Medieras... good stuff.
