Huskers Rule

It appears that the Huskers are going to finish off perennial powerhouse Maine tonight. Just plan on more of the same. BTW, how about those Sooners? Big Twelve is wide open. Huskers need game time to come together. The flag was flying proud outside the homestead today. Looking forward to the 37 forever weekend. Hope to see some of you there.

Wake Forest is bad, but they're still a 1-A team. I'll bet they could beat Maine.

1-AA is 1-AA. A Div 1-A school, especially one from a BCS conference, should dominate. Anything less is a disappointment.

At that right Sucklone fans?

And before anybody goes off about the Hawkeyes playing a 1-AA team next week -- Iowa wouldn't have to play UNI if Pinkel wasn't such a ****ing gash...

Yeah. Losing to Vandy though should revoke your rights as a I-A team.

The best I-AA teams could easily beat the bottom feeders of the Sun Belt Conference. Thats about it though.

Still, its freaking NEBRASKA. Where is this new WCO? The only thing remotely impressive about their perfomance was their defense.

Yeah, about half the Sun Belt, as well as Buffalo and a couple of other bottom feeders in the MAC -- incidentally, most of them WERE 1-AA teams until a few years ago.

By the way, I'm a big Sun Belt fan. It started while playing NCAA 2003 with the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns.

My current dynasty is the Arkansas State Indians...maybe I should post some results over in the Games forum...

I heard on the radio the other day that many in Huskerland don't like Calla han; said the guy can't coach, and if the sitch doesn't get a whole lot better this year, he's a goner. Any truth to that?

/wife's a Husker, many in the xtend'd fam are too...

If they don't get a bowl game, Callahan is as good as gone. Too much pressure there.

However if they end up 6-5 I see him staying, with the Husker homers making tons of excuses.

Yeah, although if there was ever a game where I wanted both teams to lose. Or fall into a lava pit. I hate 'em both.

Vandy has a stud QB. I wouldn't be surprised to see Cutler starting in the NFL in a few years. There were a bunch of scouts at the game to watch him--Vanderbilt or not . . .

WFU isn't that bad.

They were 4-7 last year, but lost a bunch of close quality games:

30-37 vs. Clemson in 2OT
21-27 vs. NC State in OT
10-17 vs. VA Tech (stalled drive inside the 10 yards line at end of game)
24-31 vs. North Carolina
17-20 vs. Florida State (led in 4th quarter)
7-13 vs. Maryland

My guess?

We'll lose to Nebraska by less than a touchdown. It's the WF way!

I'll be interested to see what Nebraska's D does against a respectable rushing game . . .
