On November 22, 1963, when he was hardly past his first thousand days in office, John Fitzgerald Kennedy was killed by an assassin's bullets as his motorcade wound through Dallas, Texas. Kennedy was the youngest man elected President; he was the youngest to die....

Just wanted to post in memory of JFK.

I was only three months old when JFK was shot, but I've always found the stories people tell about where they were and what they were doing when they heard the news interesting.

I was in my third grade class. I actually went to the bathroom and heard the nurses talking about it. When I went back to class I announced what I heard and got sent to the corner for what I announced.

Great posts from those who were old enough to remember. Around this time of year I always try to think of what might have been in our history had JFK been allowed to serve out his term/s. Keep 'em commin, and thanks for dropin by.

I have family there and have been there a few times-very cool, but sad.

I'm from Dallas and have been to the Book Depository, very interesting place. They don't even believe the one bullet theory, most people that I know in Dallas do not believe the theory. I was twelve years from being born, but I still have a soft spot for the event.

I was in 6th grade at Russell Elementary School in Columbia, Mo. Our teacher left the room, then came in crying and told us what had happened. It was also my mother's birthday, and all she and my grandparents did that night was cry.

I didn't lose it until John-John saluted his father's casket as it went by.

And when I look at what has happened to that family since then, I can only count my humble blessings.

When John Lennon was shot, that was the day the music died.

When JFK was shot, that was the day our innocence died.

Nothing has seemed totally right since then.

I was doing whatever Mom did that day. (I was born the following June.)

Mom's maternal grandmother passed away the next day.

Sitting in a classroom hitting on one of the girls in class.

Our teacher lost it and left for the day.

Still remember that whole surreal event.
