I generally gravitate towards Nike because I know a 10 fits me perfectly every time. I've owned New Balance frequently and a couple pairs of reeboks lately.

As a major shoe consumer, I generally have no preference.
New Balance, Nike and Adidas are my favs. But I enjoy offerings from Puma, Asics, Converse, and the occasional Reebok or Vans. |

Pearl Izumi. The best running shoe. I've tried them all, and this is the one.

I think New Balance are the best for me. I picked up a cheap pair of Champions (hey, they make athletic stuff, why not?) at payless and I've gotta tell ya... they are the most uncomfortable peices of shit I have ever owned.
I usually just get my shoes on ebay. Usually cheaper than retail, around here anyway. |

I guess my biggest turnoff to the New Balance is that they don't have mid/hightops. My bad ankle really does better with a bit more support.
These are what I got delivered today (cost me $49 total): ![]() Got my first pair of And1s off a clearance rack at Stage for $20 and basically just bought them as something to run around in and not worry about keeping them looking new. After wearing them a bit, I demoted the Nikes that were already starting to fall apart (in about a month's time) and made the And1's as my primary pair. I have been wearing them for 8-9 months now and they are still going strong. Only knock on the And1's so far is that they are a bit harder to find since they aren't as popular as the other brands.

I've had the best luck overall with Nike even though I've had a couple of pairs of Adidas that I really liked.
Reebok is generally comfortable, but I've never had a pair that lasted very long. |

Let me amend this by saying that I usually walk into the shoe place and have to ask "What do you have in 14", which is normally not much.

FWIW, I've been wearing a lot of Merrell lately. In fact, Merrell has comprised nearly half my shoe purchases in the past 12 months:

I've been jogging in Mizuno's Wave Creation's the past few years.

Mizuno makes a quality product. I'm a little surprised we haven't had more Nike wearers. While they make lots of crummy shoes, they market their product like nobody else. I'll never forget my first long run in a pair of those friggin' Shox. ![]() |

I love my shox. I just purchased them about a month ago because I was having some calf tightness for about a week. Wore those shoes 2 days and the calf cleared up never to return.
