This is not a statistical basis but it is based on watching the teams against several opponents.

1. San Diego (dominating defense)
2. Denver
3. KC (but vastly improved almost as good as Denver)
4. Oakland (not in the other 3s ballpark)

I still can't believe San Diego is being rated so highly. They're good, but they've played the shittiest offenses in the league. Look at this garbage:

Oakland - 32nd
Tennesse - 27th
Baltimore - 29th
Pittsburgh - 25th

Compare to Denver:

St. Louis - 10th
Kansas City - 19th
New England - 11th
Baltimore - 29th

Compare to Kansas City:

Cincinatti - 16th
San Francisco -13th
Denver - 18th
Arizona - 22nd

So basically, the WORST offense we've faced would be the BEST offense San Diego would face.

And if it wasn't for us, SF would be a top 3 offense. They went into our game at #4, and played well the week after

That is interesting but due to the lack of common opponents I still look at how dominating each of them are when watched. Soon we will have several common opponents and this question will be easier to judge.

Id still rate SD over KC. Who did the KC D really stop? bengals scored more than 20. You held Denver in check but they won. Shutting down SF is impressive I guess.. but no one is going to seriously rate them as the 3rd best offense in the league, as someone suggested.

You won in Arizona, but a Rookie in his first NFL start scored over 20 points on your D, while SD hasnt had 1 opponent go over 14 points, and they're currently ranked 1st against the run and pass..

You gave up 13 points to Pittsburgh on your home turf.

We shut out the 49ers.

Big difference. San Francisco has been good on offense against everyone but us.

Also, the Bengals got 13 points off field position.
