Despite loss, Chiefs still first in the AFC Worst

Despite loss, Chiefs still first in the AFC Worst

At 4-4 with 2 home losses, all is not lost for the Kansas City Chiefs. An imploding division leaves the Chiefs still on top with SD’s loss at Minnesota and Denver’s humiliation at the hands of the red hot Detroit Lions.

Changes are coming:

Joe Buck plugged away at the Croyle-is-warming-up-on-the-sidelines angle; he got that idea from somewhere.

Larry Johnson’s ankle roll looked like a season ender. Herm said we will see plenty of Kolby Smith along with Priest Holmes. I smell a RBbC…

The better team won:

Favre’s 360 yards passing on the road was a championship performance against a stout defense;

Easy to see why the Pack cut Rayner in favor of Crosby;

Even with plenty of yellow hankies assisting the KC offense’s anemic efforts, GB’s defense took away the run and shut down KC’s (admitted second string) WRs.

The good:

Alphonso Boone is a beast inside who creates all kind of problems for interior blockers;

Dustin Colquitt. ‘Nuff said.

The bad:

3 of 11 on third downs, Huard was sacked 5 times for -40 yards.

Chief’s Cover 2 let WRs get behind them too much against a QB who made them pay for it.

The ugly:

Kansas City averaged just 4 yards-per-play. That is miserable.

KC is dead last in play efficiency: more 3-and-outs than any team in the NFL.

Bold prediction:

Now that Herm is without LJ, he will have to be more creative on offense (which means actually trying to get 1st downs and score). He can no longer hide behind the mirage of “we’re a power running team”. Anticipated result: the Chiefs O will actually improve.

I hope we lose the rest of the games this year, Croyle wont get a chance this year anyways, there is no point in getting a bad draft pick so we can just barely miss the playoffs or lose first round. Changes need to be made bad.

I just don't see how anyone has any hope with Huard as our QB.

Trust me, I am extremely disappointed. If we could start playing in the first quarter like we did in the fourth, we'd be in an entirely different boat right now. All that said...

how can you honestly say "you hope we lose the rest of our games"?

I have hope that we might win a game each week. I have hope that Brodie won't get ****ing obliterated and get hurt again. I have hope that we might win the division and host a playoff game at Arrowhead.

We really weren't built for Maul ball or bucball. We don't have a good run blocking line. Our TE is better in the passing game than the running game. Our RB does better in space than he does rutting out tough yardage.

Unless you define Maul ball as the offense you run whenever you don't have a credible QB.

idk, I'm just sick of our offense, my room mate is a packers fan that wont shut up, this is going to end up like every year, I honestly wouldn't mind seeing us have a low draft pick in every round just for one year, and hopefully get some real good talent. I am glad we were able to draft people like DJ, Hali, and Bowe don't get me wrong. I would LOVE for us to win, I think we just need to get the bad over with before we get the good.

I don't understand the crazy amount of fair-weather fans on this board..oh my god, we're .500, time to sacrifice the season for a first round pick. fuck that, I don't want to watch the Chiefs lose one more game, but they will. And when they do, I'll watch the next game. And so on and so forth, that's what fans do.

All hope is lost, why would we want to win the division? If nothing else, to thumb our noses at those prick Chargers fans. I don't want those a-holes winning anything.

Yeah, we all get it, we're a bad team..we're not going to the superbowl this year. But the truth is, if we were a good team right now, if we were 6-2 with Croyle at QB, we aren't going to beat Indy or NE. Let's at least beat all our division rivals and win something.

This is a fake excuse. NFL QBs get hammered. There is no preventing it. Peyton Manning took a wicked whiplash hit today. If the QB isn't durable enough to handle it, then we need to look elsewhere. But we'll never know with him cocooned on the sideline.

I will watch all the game too, even though I'm sick of watching us lose, missing the playoffs or losing first round gets pretty old after awhile though. Something needs to happen. I definatly want us to win some more games, just at this point I think losing more than we win would be better for us in the long run.

Great. Then sit back and enjoy while this team continues to transition while not losing their ass. Over the course of the last year and a half, this team has started to rebuild and completely shift its focus.

Most teams have to endure a few 5, 6 win seasons to do that. The Chiefs have been fortunate to not have to. That's worth applauding Herm & Carl.

So, we're not winning the SB this year. Fine. But I'll be damned if I sit back and say let's endure a horrible next few years to overhaul this team, like some people here are.
