I feel so sorry for Croyle

This guy is in a bad situation and won't be able to develop with these coaches.

Bad drafting and even worse player development are the dead, rotting albatrosses hanging from Carl's shriveled nutbag for sure, Mr. BigRedChief. I guess I wonder why in God's name they thought Welbourne, Turley, and Terry were worth a crap in the first place? Surely there was someone better available in FA?

Brodie was off plenty. I still think he has a future, but what we saw today was the reason for what we saw last week.

I don't want to overstate it, I see promise. But there IS room for improvement. I like the mobility and the release. It's the vision [Bowe all alone in the EZ, even if across the field], and the accuracy at times that bothers me.

Brodie has it over Huard in SOOOO many ways, but Huard still has it over him in accuracy at 15-25 yards.

It's funny, Mr. Iowanian. Today, he actually played to win. The 4th and 1 call was an aggressive call. I think it was the wrong call, but aggressive nonetheless.

What we saw today was Herm's in-game management at its finest. Burning two timeouts simultaneously is practically unheard of.

That's quite an overstatement on your part.

Brodie was 12/23. He had what, three passes dropped? Four?

Lenny said he had significant pressure in his face all day. True?

Yes. Huard would have been sacked 5 or 6 times.

Mixed bag. A pretty even mix between; no time at all, a decent pocket, and a roll out to buy time.

It wasn't just the incompletions. A couple of the drops were good passes, but a good many of the completions were good plays by the receiver, or wide open guys who got the ball but did so much to get to the ball they left yardage on the field.
Again, I don't want to overstate. It's not 'awful,' it's more in the vein of 'slightly unnerving' in that it's not smooth or easy. Being in synch is a heck of task and he's not fully mastered it yet.

I see your point... and I think that'll come with time.

Everyone who's been wanting Croyle to play is going to have to understand that things are gonna be a little rough at first.

I think that's what we're seeing now.

That said... I honestly expected it to be worse.

I'm sure that's a fair assessment. If I'm not mistaken, I think this is the first time he's seen a true, first-string man-to-man in the NFL.

I'm fully in agreement, just explaining why I was so sanguine about the gameplan last week.
Everyone was bagging on Herm over it, while I consider it a big factor in why we're under the impression that Brodie's some eagle being drug down by all the buzzards around him.
For all his other faults, I think Herm has a level sober hold on Brodie's capabilities and how best to groom him right now.

You have greater faith than I, Mr. Baby Lee.

It seemed like they pulled way back on the passing game after the INT.

Part of that was pulling back from the passing game. Other factors were Smith getting off a bit in the running game, and the unease I was referring to in the balance of Brodie's passes.
