Note to Herm: Wake the **** up

This is coming from your biggest (and possibly your only) supporter on Chiefs Planet.

If you send Tyler Thigpen out there one more time, you deserve the inevitable firing that will result. You thought he could play and you were very very wrong. Move on now.

That doesn't help the development of the young guys any further. Winning? Who gives a crap about winning? This team wouldn't win no matter who was in at QB.
Bowe is partly to blame for DROPPING passes week 1. He should have made that TD catch. Huard put it right where it needed to be...

I agree with you in that regardless of the QB, this team can't win. But Huard is the best QB on the roster and that's sad...

We would NOT have drafted Ryan anyway. You know it.

Winning games is NEVER meaningless. It helps build the morale of your younger players (and team) and gives them confidence that they can go out and beat a division rival on the road.

What purpose does losing, to evaluate talent, serve?

The team won in San Diego last year with Huard at QB. Thigpen can't look respectable, let alone win.
I don't think losing hurts them long-term. What it does is make them more likely to quit on Herm, because they have no confidence in his schemes or play-calling or overall ability to coach. I don't think these guys will be damaged goods under the new coach because of Herm. Their growth will be hampered for sure, regardless of whether we win or lose, because of the poor coaching they receive now.

Herm is going to get fired, and get fired soon, because the team has quit on him. They may not hate him, but they have zero faith in his abilities.

so where is the morale from that win?

i still rather have something tangible, like a shot at a franchise QB....

I understand your point but I bet we would have passed on Ryan because Carl and Herm were hell bent on proving something with Croyle. They have. They proved they're idiots for believing in the guy.

Did playing for draft picks ever get the Lions or Bengals over the hump?

let's be absolutely clear about rebuilding:

winning games with your QBOTF behind center is important

winning games with a career backup, when your QBOTF isn't even on the roster, is not

i can't say it any more simply

He has that kind of talent.

This offense had success running the ball yesterday, but only the Atlanta defense gave them room to run. By the start of the Second Half they assumed we'd come out throwing the ball. Which would've been the case if we had a respectable signal caller.

Winning football games is what Herman Edwards, Carl Peterson and this team is being paid to do.
This is the NFL. You don't tank football games so you can evaluate a 7th Round draft pick.
Jamal Charles dropped at least 3 passes yesterday that hit him right in the hands with appropriate 'touch'. That's on him, not Thigpen.

Of course they WANT to win games. Having Damon Huard in there wont bring wins.

We won two of the next three games following that victory.

As would I, but I'm not going to intentionally throw a game on a chance that it improves my draft position.

Can't argue with that.

But if you can honestly tell me that we did not squander a half-dozen possessions to begin the game I'll be quiet. If you don't think an entire half of offensive futility is hurting these young guys... You're crazy.
