If we'd like to discuss college careers.....and get by just stats and why Crabtree wasn't the college player Fitzgerald was...

Fitzgerald attended the University of Pittsburgh and became a star, widely considered one of the greatest players at the wide receiver position in the history of the college game. After just his sophomore year, Fitzgerald garnered the 2003 Walter Camp Player of the Year Award (for the best player in college football), the 2003 Biletnikoff Award (for the best wide receiver in college football), and the 2003 Columbus Touchdown Club Player of the Year. He was also a unanimous 2003 All-America selection. Additionally, he was 2003 runner-up for the prestigious Heisman Trophy, given to the most outstanding player in college football; Oklahoma's Jason White won that award by a relatively slim margin.

Fitzgerald also holds an NCAA record with at least one touchdown catch in eighteen straight games.

wait. we're both right. palko threw to fitz in 2002, in 2003 palko redshirted, and fitz was drafted in 2004.

Palko played for the University of Pittsburgh football team, where he started his career in 2002 as a lettered true freshman. He only completed 2-3 passes for 13 yards on the season, but rushed for an eight-yard touchdown late in Pitt's Insight Bowl victory over Oregon State.

Yea I was looking that up he was on the team but wasn't the starter at anytime Fitz was there...I know the QB was a shitty black guy who was left handed his name escapes me.

errr. rod rutherford. I was wrong--palko played sparingly in 2002 (fitz' first year at pitt). he was starter from 2004-2006.
