STEP 1: VETERAN DRAFT

Okay, in Step 1 we draft our players. We'll each draft 33 current NFL players, and then add more in the NFL draft. I've randomized the order, and we'll go serpentine. (If you were the first pick this round, you'll be the last pick next round.)

After the "stocking" draft, the NFL draft will do the serpentine too, but in reverse order. In other words, the person with the last pick in the first round of the stocking draft will have the first pick in the NFL draft. Deal?

Recall that we won't have any injury replacements, so if you run out of players, you're going to have a generic "scrub" starting for you.

Recall that we won't have a salary cap, and you're keeping these players for good, until you either trade them, they retire, or you cut them at the end of the year as you get to your year-end roster of 33.

Here's the draft order. Remember that you're drafting current NFL players right now, not rookies. We'll go 33 rounds.

1 Chiefs=Good: Fort Wayne Dancers
2 bdeg: Philadelphia Battery Tossers
3 Sully: Honolulu Hulas
4 Chiefscafan: Los Angeles Purple Cobras
5 MWagg72: Kansas City Kings
6 truebigdog: San Antonio Scorpions
7 rockio42: St. Louis Stallions
8 Ultra Peanut: Burlington Blue Barracudas
9 speak24: Oklahoma City Dirty Hounds
10 Fat Elvis: Cleveland Steamers
11 Pestilenceaf23: Tucson Twisters
12 kfletch007: Little Rock Squealers
13 SCChief: Greenville Marauders
14 beach tribe: Memphis Malt Liquors
15 doomy3: Chatanooga Choo Choos
16 Hootie: Las Vegas Red Lights
17 Burger: Knoxville Kiffins
18 jwazzie: St. Louis Commodes
19 Rain Man: Bradenton Super-Manatees

(Oh, great. I drew last? At least I'll get the top pick in the rookie draft.)

Please make your pick and then pm the person after you to let them know they're up. This will last a while.

I think we may as well make the picks here, though I've got a guy working on a web site now. (I apologize - I know his real name but not his chiefsplanet name.)

The coach thing sounds fun. Let's add coaches to the player draft. We'll pick 33 players and one head coach.

I was thinking about putting together a different order, at random like you did, and putting a list of coaches up instead of assing it to the draft

But if we throw it in, we'll really know if we overpaid for Herm. As if we didn't already.

I've pm'ed Chiefs=Good to make the first pick. Fort Wayne is on the clock.

Would people rather draft coaches separately or mix them with the veteran players? Next person who posts an opinion gets their way.

That'd be awesome. Let's do the coach draft after the rookie draft, and it'll be in the same order as the veteran draft.

No. Wait. We'll randomize the draft order again for the coach's draft.

How did you pick the draft randomly, I'll do the same order and get a list of all current head coaches, OCs, DCs, and position coaches and I was thinking about adding a seperate list for guys who aren't in the NFL but have showed interest in returning (won't include guys like Bill Cowher or Tony Dungy but guys like Jon Gruden and Denny Green)

I just assigned a random number to the list of owners in Excel, shuffled a few times, and then sorted large to small.

Awesome. Pick 1 is in.

When you pick, can you add to the growing draft list by adding the round, your team, and your player and position? Then pm the next person so they can pick.

The list thus starts as:

1. Fort Wayne Dancers - Peyton Manning, QB
