New Vikings quarterback Brett Favre will play in Friday's preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs, his mom told McClatchy Newspapers.

Now, word is he'll be starting as well. Cris Carter reported earlier today on ESPN that Favre will be starting Minny's home opener, and others have been saying the same. Earlier, ESPN's Adam Schefter said on ESPNews this could be the case.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen has reported that Favre will sign an official deal with the Minnesota Vikings today pending a physical, and that the deal will be between $10 and $12 million for one year.

When he throws twice as many INTs as he does TDs this season - his career will be over anyway.

I was one of the only ones on here that said he would be back-everyone had him dead a burried-but I knew he hated training camp and with 25 million on the line-he would sign.

I wouldn't mind seeing him take a big hit, but I've never been a fan of wishing injury on a player (joking or not).
