Quinn Out, Derek Anderson In in Cleveland

Watching ESPN, and Mangini has already made the switch to Derek Anderson.

Didn't the Browns trade two firsts to get Quinn? That certainly hasn't been a good trade.

They have been dumping on Quinn for years. Drafted him and then nothing. Pay him a ton a then they pay Anderson a ton and really got nothing from either of them.

They will be drafting Mc Coy next year and that's really bad for him.

No need to, it's obvious with every word you write.

The "inaccurate" and "checkdown" comments gave you away.

If you are doubting that he likes to checkdown, all that says is that you haven't watched him play this year. I know you have some sort of attachment to him, but go watch him play, go see what Cleveland fans are saying about him. The truth is that he is afraid to throw the ball downfield right now.

I'm sure a lot of that is on the coaching staff, and I don't think he should be benched. Maybe he is afraid of making mistakes and getting benched. But right now he is looking like a bad qb.

Quinn may have it but the Browns will never find out. He should have played his rookie or second year. You don't draft a QB in the first and never play him.

I've watched quite a bit this year.

Teams are doubling Edwards, and he has nowhere to go with the ball.

They took away his security blankets, Winslow and Jerevicius.

If you watched him play, you'd see that.

Instead, it's easier for you to say he's "afraid" to throw downfield.

It's very hard for young QB's to become good while on shitty teams.

Quinn not playing his first year has NOTHING to do with his trouble. He's on a crappy team and that makes it very difficult to a young QB to succeed.

Yet DA is uber-suck when he regresses for the exact same reasons? Last year, Winslow was in and out of the line-up all year, his line wasn't protecting him, they couldn't run the ball, Jurevicius was out all year and Edwards had butter-fingers and alligator arms. The #2 receiver is a punt returner. When they finally put the Golden Boy in last year, he had pretty much the same results for two and half games before getting hurt.

Quinn's supporting cast in Cleveland isn't that bad. Joe Thomas, Braylon, Steinbach, Alex Mack.

Quinn isn't the only problem, but Quinn himself really sukks. He looks buff, but he has a weak arm. He floats balls. He isn't agile enough to succeed running around. He wasn't worth a Second Round pick...

I don't see how you can blame Brady Quinn in this situation.

He was given the following to work with:

Braylon Edwards
Kellen Winslow
Joe Thomas
LeCharles Bentley
Jamal Lewis

He was sat down his first year to learn. Ironically, this is also the only year that Winslow was healthy. Edwards and Thomas were not only productive, but elite.

Since then, LeCharles Bentley is ****ing done, Jamal Lewis, after having a bit of a resurgence last year, has shown a precipitous decline, Edwards couldn't catch syphilis from a two dong whore in Bangkok, Winslow got hurt, got staph, and got traded, and Thomas turned into Jordan Black.

What originally seemed like a great situation ended up being the worst possible situation for a QB to be in, especially with a rather unlucky injury last year, and then having one of the worst coaches in league history assume the head mantle.

Eric Mangini is the modern day Rich Kotite. People forget that Kotite was marginally successful with the Eagles. They only remember his tenure with the Jets. Well, Mangini, taking the worst parts of Belichick, Napoloen, and Kotite, and mixing them into a shit stew, has managed to completely destroy what was already decimated.

I agree that it hasn't been a good situation for Quinn. I'm also sure you will allow Cassel the same allowance as many of the above circumstances also exist here.
