The fans haven't quite realized that this is an organization that plays in KC, has been a constant loser recently, not prepared to win anything in the next couple of years, has Todd Haley as the HC and isn't planning to outbid (significantly) other teams' offers.

Pioli is basically like Leonid Brezhnev. Stalin and Krushchev, although despotic, were practical about their regimes. Brezhnev, particularly in the last few years of his life, bought into the propaganda meant to placate the masses.

I think that he's spouted "The Right 53" and "The Patriot Way" so much that he honestly believes the only way to build a football team is to look at guys who were attached to either New England or Parcells.

Emerson once said "a foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of a small mind". I can think of no better quote to encapsulate Scott Pioli.

No, he wasn't.

Gilberry plays well on passing downs as more of a traditional 3-technique. When he played 5-technique he was getting manhandled. He's a good role player. But nothing more than that.

And yes, I think this signing would reek of suck. Just trying to clear up the misconception that Gilberry is anything more than a role playing backup.
