Schefter: Steelers Contacting Teams to Trade Big Ben for Top 10 pick

http://twitter.com/adam_schefter
Pittsburgh has begun contacting teams to trade Ben Roethlisberger for a top 10 pick. At least one team considering it. Story far from done.

Yeah he's had some great plays. But he's also had ones that make you say WTF? He's a great qb, but not top tier.

Yep....ND sure sucks.

Notre Dame has the 3rd highest winning percentage in NCAA history (.736), behind only Michigan and the Texas Longhorns (.737).

As of the end of the 2009 football season, Notre Dame has the 3rd most wins in NCAA history (837), trailing only Michigan (877) and Texas (845). Notre Dame also has the fewest losses of any program (291) (minimum 800 games played).

Notre Dame has 102 winning seasons in 121 years of football, and only 13 losing seasons.

The football program is tied with USC for most Heisman trophy winners at seven (Ohio State has seven Heisman trophies that were won by six players).

Notre Dame has produced more All-Americans (99), consensus All-Americans (80) and unanimous All-Americans (31) in football than any other college program.

Notre Dame is represented by 48 players and coaches in the College Football Hall of Fame, the most of any university.

Ten former players are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, second only to USC(11). Notre Dame has produced the largest number of players to go on to play in the National Football League of any program in the country. As of the 2008 NFL draft, 463 players have been drafted.

Raiders are probably the team that's interested.

Funny...I don't remember anybody bringing up ND's history in this discussion. I said that's it's been a long time since ND produced a QB that mattered at the NFL level.

You said that it was suck if the Donks had both Brady Quin and Jim Claussen. I disagreed, however, I do think that Claussen has much more NFL potential.

It's really, really tempting, but he'll be 29 by the time he starts his first full season with us.

Even with that, it's really, really tempting. The key would be whether a half-dozen games off will make him grow up or will make him go even more immature. I'd lean more toward assuming it'll make him grow up, but either way a suspension will have an impact on him, and the downside risk would be bad.

5 years of a top-notch quarterback for a first-round pick probably isn't horrible value, though. If we could make it conditional somehow, I'd probably do it.

I'd rather have Clausen or Quinn than ****ing Matt Cassel.

He would be a perfect fit with the Raiders, and I think that's what's going to happen.

Let's avoid getting a Franchise QB, God forbid we might actually win something.

I'd trade for him. I imagine Cleveland is the one offering the 7th pick.

If that did happen, I would then trade out of 5 - down to around 7, 8 or 9 and would still be able to get Berry there.

Seattle will take Okung if he's still there at 6.

Micheal Smith seems to think Okung will be available to us and we would take him, i just want this draft to start already.
