WTF were the parents of these little girls thinking?

Heard about this on the radio a few minutes ago. Apparently the video has gone viral and the rest of us are feeling a little better about our imperfect parenting skills.

Those girls were amazing dancers. The outfits are a bit over the top though.

I don't have a problem with the dancing. I have a little problem with the costumes although in a different context I'd be OK with them even for 9 year olds. I have a big problem with the song they used (not with the song itself, but with playing it for kids, much more for using it for the basis of this dance routine).

Talented dancers ... they are pretty good for that young.

you would think that an adult involved would decide they should be dressed like 9 year olds though.

if you paid a shred of attention you would know that the song in the youtube is NOT the song they danced to.

My daughter dances competitively, and this isn't all that unusual. It's a bit more over the top in terms of costume/song/moves, but where do you guys think college dance team participants come from? Are all of them going to be strippers too? In the same way that boys are more and more competitive at younger ages in sports, girls in dance, gymnastics, etc. are the same. It's hard to find the line that is too over the top IMO. My daughter hasn't gotten close to the point of this video, but I've seen some along these lines and while it bothers me, where's the line? In terms of working to get better -someone mentioned the amount of work this would take - again, where's the line? Is it one night a week? 4 nights? When your child loves what she's doing and wants to practice and get better....how much is too much?

I'm curious how many that have commented have children around this age? I'm not criticizing everyone's opinion by any means, and I agree with many. But as a parent in this day and age, these are some of the things that we're challenged with and it's not an easy gig.

It's not the dancing so much as it is what they are wearing. Little girls are dancing like that now-a-days.....it doesn't make it right IMO, but it's becoming the norm. Those moves, those costumes, IMO, are teaching girls at an early age to exploit their sexuality.

What they are wearing, which is essentially lingerie for midgets, is what sets it over the top.

THAT crossed the line. It doesn't matter exactly where the line is when it's clear that something has jumped far across it.

I have an eight-year-old daughter. There's no way on God's green earth I'd allow her to be sexualized in this way or any other.

put them in a full type body suit and eliminate a few of those "grind squats" or whatever and there isn't a problem imo.

the real song is Beyonce singing "Single Ladies" put a ring on it blah, blah, blah

and the kids were clearly trying to dance like Beyonce

once again, if an adult would of just toned it down just a bit(dress, hips) it would of be almost exactly the same without all the "sexual" overtones.
