Everyone but Page at OTA's today...

Except For Jarrad Page
by Joel Thorman on May 17, 2010 11:25 AM CDT in 2010 Campaign 15 comments

http://www.arrowheadpride.com/

I posted this morning a report from the Kansas City Star's Adam Teicher that LB Mike Vrabel would be attending the voluntary portion of OTAs, which begin today.

Well, here's another surprise from the Star's Kent Babb: Brian Waters is in attendance as well.

Last year both players worked out on their own until the mandatory minicamp in June.

The lone Chief not on the field is Jarrad Page.

Page has yet to sign his tender but, as I've said before, I don't think that's too big of a deal. He was also the last to sign his tender in 2009 not doing so until May 29th.

So, (almost) all present and accounted for. Not a bad start, right?

It is your mistake, and due to the anger derived from our team being Teh sugggggggGG I can understand your impatience with our more prominent players.

Who gives a **** what you think?

He was voted to the Pro Bowl by his peers. Furthermore, he was very high in the All-Pro voting, although he ultimately failed to make that team.

Brian Waters played at a high level in 2008. Unfortunately at age 33, like many who have played for 10 years in the NFL, his body began to breakdown and he had a subpar year in 2009.

He's nothing more than a backup at this point.

Yeah, instead of posting under their given name "Bump" and calling other posters reeruns. Quite "inteligent" counterpoint there.

Waters is still a top notch guard in this league. He's not the best LG like he once was......but he's a top 10 guard to say the least.

Interesting. Last year Waters and Vrabel not showing was a HUGE deal.

Now they show up and it means nothing.

I dont think Page signs. He must be looking for either a big payday or he's on the "I hate Haley" bandwagon that Pollard was on.

But, Otogwe hasn't signed yet either, and i'll gladly take him as Page's replacement.

Chiefs LB Mike Vrabel Plans To Attend OTAs Today

Over the past few weeks, we've been making an assumption that LB Mike Vrabel will not attend the voluntary portions of the Chiefs Organized Team Activities (OTAs).

Turns out, we were wrong. Adam Teicher of the Kansas City Star reports Vrabel plans on attending all the OTAs.

"I’m looking forward to being there and getting back to work," Vrabel said. "I told Todd (Haley) I plan to be at all of the (practices) and the minicamp. It’s the exact same schedule I had for my last seven years in New England."

The minicamp would be the lone mandatory camp the Chiefs will conduct in June.

Vrabel says last year, with all the change going on, he "wasn't in a big hurry" to get to Kansas City.

"Once I got there," he told Teicher, "and realized the type of people we had around and the type of people they wanted to bring in, it was fine."
Teicher reports Vrabel is also feeling a "sense of urgency" this season because, at his age, you're lucky to be in the NFL.

"When you turn 34 in the National Football League, you’re lucky to still have a job," Vrabel said. "So it’s closer to the end than it is to the beginning for me. I fully intend to put everything into this season and then I’ll evaluate things at the end of the season, I hope at the end of this season I’m able to do it again. If I’m not, then that will be it."

A year ago, that picture brought excitement to me. Today it brings anger and frustration.
