I think 8-8. We were very close to winning 3 more games last but could finish in the 4th. Our talent has gone way up and there will be better game planning.

We could go 7-9?

From a personnel point, we didn't really make enough changes to convince me that we'll see drastic improvement. No doubt we will improve but I think it is going to be a slow and steady progresss. In my opinion, the improvement is going to come from coaching. I agree with Bruschi's take, we've added some championship caliber co-ordinators and that should help in the developmental process of our young players.

I still think the Chiefs are a team in transition. Let's face it, we are not there yet. Until this team upgrades their personnel on both sides of the ball where we see an infusion of talent everywhere, then I'll say yeah we could very well win more than 7 games or possibly compete for a superbowl. In reality, we are far from that.

This team still needs:

-A dominant NT
-A better quarterback
-I still believe we need ILB's. We need guys that are more physical and smart if we are going to prove that we could stop the run. D Williams and DJ do not possess those attributes. I also think we could another passrusher, but I don't think that will be a problem this year. We will find ways to get to the quarterback w/ this def co-ordinator.

*We are still going to be soft on defense. We don't have enough guys that have killer instinct. The Oline is still a work in progress. And has some questions and concerns. Can Richardson develop into a solid RT? Is Wiegmann a good stopgap at center for this year? waters is on the decline. Will Albert prove he can be a franchise LT?

The OL is something to keep in mind, whether everything works out and gels in that area is another story. Im hoping for an efficient unit altogether, till now, it remains a weakness on the team. I think we've failed to find a set of players that can develop cohesion amongst each other.

Is Bowe gonna rebound back, and be the player he was the first two years here? Is Cassel gonna shock everybody and prove to the rest of us that he can play quarterback and be the captain this team needs. Another question mark. There are too many question marks on this team that need to be answered. And the fact we are weak in key areas doesn't sit well with me.

Im not gonna jump the gun and say we are going to win more than 7 games. I still think this team needs to learn how to win first before we could jump ahead of ourselves. The whole key to this season should be to build confidence. Secondly, because this is a young team, another concern I believe is their inability to finish off games. We've seen this from time to time even when Herm and Carl were here till now. How many times did teams come back on us to drive and win games? plenty. I thought we were gonna lose against the Pack. I want us to develop character, and learn to win. finishing off games imo is learning how to win. We lack that, and hopefully that is a transition problem that comes from lack of maturity.

Even 6 wins is a drastic improvement over 2-14. I expect 6 wins from KC... and I hate that fuggin team. They are of the Devil... don't see how you folks can voluntarily support those evil fugtards.

A drastic improvement would be like 10 wins. Or like what we saw from the phins. One year they were 1-15, and the next year they go 11-5.

That is what I meant from drastic improvement jmo.

Whatever dude. You could take a look at us and say that we will always choke in the playoffs, or you could look at history and see other teams that were in the same situation as us and actually won a Super Bowl later. Just because we've choked in the past doesn't mean it will happen this year. You can't write history before it happens. Anything could happen this year. Thats why you play the games.
My viewpoint is you got that record against a very very crappy AFCW teams.. You were basically given 3-4 free wins each year because of how bad Den,Oak and KC have been.. Basically a free ride to the playoffs.. ( 5-1,5-1,5-1 and 5-1 in the division the past 4)

Then add the fact your defense is worse, you lost your main WR weapon.. Gambling on a rookie RB.. That and this will be the first time in a long while that the other division rivals have gotten a bit better... Well except Denver..

Basically your team had a good four year window where they should have received a free ride to the AFC championship game from the free wins alone from the division..

There is just no killer instinct in your team..

All depends on JCharles and how he does this year..

Hopefully our playaction attack is up to par and we do not drop as many passes.. 8-8 imo is our best shot at wins, and that might be enough to win the division this year, that is how weak I think it is or even if you will..

Again, 2008 was a bad year, but are you just going to ignore the 9-1, 6-4, and 8-2 record outside of the AFC West in all those other years? Are you saying we didn't deserve to make the playoffs in any of those 3 years?

The playoffs aren't a free ride, what you said sounds like a joke.

The Chargers have been Choke Artists, I will agree with, but that doesn't mean that can't all change this year.

Not me. Running the table in the 2nd half of last season was admirable... that was one bad ass run. You guyz deserved your playoffs. But, as you say, everyone expects a choke cuz its always been that way save '94 when you made the Bowl. You get there again & respect for your team quadruples.

Yep. I agree that the Chargers deserve criticism for not going to the Super Bowl, but I still think they can. I'm not sure why some people think their window is closed.
