Burnett said he probably will not watch the playoffs. Rivers and center Nick Hardwick said they will watch because they might learn something that could help the Chargers next year.

"I will definitely watch the Jets and Colts game," Gates said. "And I will watch the Chiefs game."

Gates said he believes another AFC West team might have fared better than the Chiefs will fare.

Surprisingly, the other AFC West team he mentioned was not the Chargers, but another San Diego rival whose recent drafts are paying off.

"Personally, no disrespect to the Chiefs, I think the Raiders (8-8) would have represented the AFC West better, if I had to take a pick of who I wanted to go," Gates said. "Because the Chiefs are still pretty young. They're a young team. They're talented, but they are a young team. But, they played tremendous this year."

IMO, the Chiefs OL is patchwork, that needs more work.

That being said, I am thrilled to be watching another Chiefs game this weekend, and hope like hell I get to do the same the following weekend.

I am just hoping like hell the Raiders fire their coach, Cable. Didn't he hit another coach, I wonder how that is going. Maybe that needs stirred up again.

but what if Denver's sudden momentum burst caused them to beat San Diego one time and Norv became so distraught he benched Rivers for Volek which caused San Diego to lose 4 games in a row...and then as Oakland was flying to KC to win the division their team plane crashed resulting in the Chiefs winning the division at 8-8...

And if the Chargers had won more games than the Chiefs, regardless of schedule, they'd have made the playoffs. Instead, they lost to the Chiefs, Seahawks, Patriots, Rams, Raiders (twice) and Bengals. They won 9 games, and only two of those wins were against playoff teams (Chiefs, Colts). The Chargers only played 4 playoff teams, and were 1-2 against playoff teams outside their division, and 2-3 overall.
