-- ATTENTION DIRECKSHUN

I'm ready for my shower of your awesome track suggestion. I've thought about this all day - I have the bose out - I have dutch-masters - Let's do this shit - bring it hardcore, like you never have before!

I'm ready, get the records spinning!

I don't care - i'll slam dance tonight, even!

I'd slam-dance versus Mohillbilly right now and listen to Motorhead in the background.

Rare form tonight - I'm suggesting everything and staying up forever!!!

I'm even plugging in Creepshow II (muted) on the DVD.

I've had huge issues finding tracks lately - Clearly it was laziness because man, I'm on fire right now. Can you believe all of this gold?

Here's two things I've been into for a couple weeks:

One is Son Lux, which has come out with an album of some of the most explosively creative and original pop music that it almost defies description. Best track: We Lost It To Trying.

A conceptual electronic artist called The Caretaker has also released a ridiculously amazing album this year called An Empty Bliss Beyond This World (full album). It's a sonic sampling of alzheimers, as the schmaltzy-but-lovely music slowly, indiscernably erodes over the course of 54 minutes.

A great subway act from New York has recently come out with their own album.

The name of the band is Moon Hooch, and they feature two saxophonists and a drummer. That's it.

The songs are pretty simple, and they're pretty amateurish. But god damn, they are enjoyable.

I highly recommend "Number 9." Give it 30 seconds.

Woodkid has come out with a really interesting album this year.

If you've ever heard the phrase "orchestral pop," this is that concept in the most literal sense.

The entire resources of a not-quite-full orchestra engineered entirely to produce original, short pop songs.

The guy's voice is smokey and phenomenal. They've started using some of his material in commericals.

Interesting - sounds like Wagon Christ at the beginning - then it goes into what sounds like 70's protest-rock.

I sorta feel that, actually.

I don't know much about Kishi Bashi, but they sure remind me a lot of what Animal Collective used to sound like. A ton of energy, not a lot of simple song structure. Just lots of elements thrown into a bowl, and hit "frappe." My recommendation is "Bright Whites."

Also, I am still of the belief that there is no more exciting musical artist right now than Kanye West.

He released an outstanding album this year, but it's caused me to go back and listen to his earlier stuff, like Late Registration, and I've found myself falling in love with extremely thoughtful, reflective tracks that almost seem to completely collide with the image Kanye's crafted for himself.

You need to throw some Wagon Christ into this thread. Fun artist.
