If you could pick one player to go back in time and take knowing what we know now, who would it be?

Not one person had faith in Stephenson to be LT last year.

I would have hated it at the time but if the Chiefs could have sent their 1st to SF for Smith and got a couple of low round picks back, like a 5th in 2013 and a 3rd in 2014, it would have been better in the long run. They could have taken Kyle Long at the top of the second and then had their 2nd and an extra pick in this draft, where it's looking like they would be pretty valuable.

So? People seem to be okay with him playing LT this year.

Last year we tag Albert, keep Winston, plug in Stephenson as swing tackle.

In 2014 just let Albert walk, put in Stephenson at LT, draft backup to Winston, who is still on the old contract given to him by Pioli.

Problem solved.

It was pretty awesome how I snagged him for the niners at the end of the first round of the CP mock and they actually moved up to get him in the actual draft. Not to brag, but.... /flex

I did not follow the prospects this year nearly as closely as I did last year, so I expect a more mediocre performance in the CP draft this year.

This is exactly what I suggested when people started bitching up a storm about the lack of top players in the draft. If Eric Fisher truly was the best we could do, then we should have just gotten that #1 pick off our hands, taken what we could get for it, and moved on.

Getting Smith and some change back would have been so incredibly valuable compared to what we have now. The same goes for taking a mulligan and trading the pick away for dogshit. I would have greatly preferred that to taking Fisher.

I think if you are the Chiefs last year with the benefit of hindsight, you do your best to trade back to around pick 15 and take Eric Reid. Maybe you pick up Allen and Warford. Trade Albert to the Dolphins for a '14 second. Trade three or four picks for '14 picks. And pick up Cooper and Catapano in the seventh.

Heh, I love how everyone loves to throw out the "they should just trade down"

There has to be demand for that. Last year there was no demand for anyone because well....its pretty obvious now.

Dolphins traded up. Even getting raped in a trade would be better than Fisher. 10 overall + 3rd/4th rd pick > 1st overall pick (at least for last year's draft).
