In situations where I think the person behind me has an obstructed view I turn on my emergency blinkers.

I always slow to a stop as I pull as far to the the right as I can. The only time I don't do that is if I am already stopped at a red light or a stop sign. If I have already entered an intersection then I pull through it, slow to a stop as far to the right as I can.

The correct ChiefsPlanet answer is to floor the pedal on my camaro, beating the emergency vehicle to the scene, where I either A) give CPR to a series of hot blonde women, resuscitating them all, or B) putting out a large fire simply by urinating on it. In rare cases, both.

The correct answer is to pull your ass over to the best of your ability so they can do the job you pay for them to do. And hope everyone does the same if they are headed to your home.

You dont want to become the next vehicle that needs emergency help. Some stituations you cant mover to the right safely. There could be people working along the roads edge or a stall but you worried about the cop behind you while you flatten some dude ahead of you. The cop most likely has training to speed around you as long as you give him room to see ahead.

For those familiar with Liberty area just a few weeks ago I was North on Church Road between 152 and 291 heading North bound. I hear sirens and lights so I move to the shoulder and a Clay County Sheriff flies by at high rat of speed. I merge back onto the road and at 291 i see him turn left. I reach the light and see him turn off the lights and pull into Dairy Queen. He pulls into and parks next to 3 other Sheriff patrol cars. As we were looking to eat to we pulled into DQ also and there were the Clay County Sheriffs enjoying lunch. So I guess it was the Dilly Bar emergency.

All answers are the same. Slow down and pull as far as possible to the right side of the road and stop.

Slow down in pull onto the drive, staying parallel to the roadway. This way if the emergency vehicle needs to go into that drive, I can quickly get out of it's [/COLOR]way

Pull over as far as I safely can. And I am close to the crest of a hill, I go partway down the hill so it can safely pass me in the opposing lane.

An emergency vehicle approaches from in front of you (traveling in the opposite direction), what do you do?

Just pull over and stop on the roadway, staying clear of driveways, as I am not in his way.

Would love to hear what you guys think is appropriate and feel free to explain why you do what you do.
Since I can't go anywhere without being on a narrow two-laned road, no shoulders, only ditches, I have already been in each of your scenarios. I always drive with my window cracked opened so that I have plenty of warning of emergency vehicles nearby and can plan where I can pull over long before they get near me. And in all cases one needs to be mindful of opposing cars and where they pull over so the roadway isn't blocked.

Depends on if I hear the sirens. I play my radio pretty loud and my ears are very narrow requiring a doctor to unplug them once of year of wax that hardens.

by "undivided", I mean physically undivided...I understand that a pair of double solid lines is supposed to he treated like a concrete barrier in most cases, but I do not do that when an emergency vehicle is coming in the opposing direction...if she can physically get in my lane, I give her priority, period!

in the Sacramento area, which is where I do most of my driving, I get worried when I see sirens, because it seems at least one or two other motorists does not see the sirens. So I try to slow or stop my car quickly but safely, worrying that an oblivious driver might hit me.
