Other Sports Most Cursed Sports Town? - Page 3

Now with KC and Cleveland winning championships, who is now the most cursed sports town?

I think it would be Buffalo. Not only the four superbowl losses in a row but also the 1999 Stanley Cup finals and the skate in the crease game. The other would be Minneapolis. Yes, the Twins won a couple of World Series in the early 90s but since then a lot of heartbreak in football. The Atlanta Falcons playoff game and this years missed chip shot field goal come to mind.

Yeah, KC has had some brutal stretches, but I don't think it's quite in the same class as some of these other cities anymore.

Even with 20 years of horrible baseball, the Royals are now one of the most successful expansion teams ever. They've won 2 WS and 4 pennants in less than 50 years. Most all the teams ahead of them now have been around for a century. Look at the division. The Indians have been around for 115 years, they have 2 WS and 5 pennants. The Twins organization has been around 115 years, 3 titles and 6 pennants. The White Sox have 3 titles and 5 pennants. The Royals are right there with them.

You could go on, teams like the Phillies and Cubs who have been around for 100+ years and only have 2 titles.

I've got two neighbors from Ohio and they are both Steelers fans and Ohio State fans. Makes no sense to me, I said what's wrong with Cincinnati or Cleveland. I think they are just bandwagon fans. Minnesota has won something in the last few decades. They're out. Buffalo and San Diego are neck and neck. But again, I'd give the edge to Buffalo because they care, people in San Diego could give two shits what their sports teams do. Sea World gets more attention than their teams.

Buffalo has one ****ing sports team. Which means they have a shitty NFL franchise and not that they're a cursed sports town. They shouldn't even be in the mix of this discussion.

That actually makes them even more cursed. One sports team (not counting hockey lol) and they've been this much AIDS for so long absolutely qualifies them as being cursed. And the most at that.
