Trevor Jizz named Donks starting QB

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/2...ng-quarterback

Quote:
The Denver Broncos have named Trevor Siemian as their starting quarterback, with coach Vance Joseph saying Monday that Siemian was the "clear-cut winner" in his competition with Paxton Lynch.

"We decided on making Trevor Siemian our quarterback," Joseph said. "Both guys competed hard. Both guys wanted the job. We're pleased with both guys, but overall the operation of the entire offense, decision-making, ball placement, was more consistent with Trevor. That's why he won the job."

Joseph had split work between the two quarterbacks in the offseason program, organized team activities, minicamp and training camp. Siemian and Lynch have each started one preseason game.

Siemian likely closed the deal Saturday night when he came in against the San Francisco 49ers with just over three minutes remaining in the first half and led the Broncos on a seven-play, 53-yard touchdown drive.

In three possessions, Siemian led the Broncos to 10 points, and on his touchdown pass -- a 19-yarder to Jordan Taylor -- Siemian bounced back from having a touchdown nullified by a holding penalty on the previous play.

Oh Knowmooooo... you've got some splainin to dooooo

He hasn't demonstrated he can keep a head coach, either.

Without a real QB, I'll bet Vance Joseph gets two seasons before he's fired. Three tops.

If Semen doesn't show big improvement Elway make a move for Brees or some other aging vet. There will be coming up and they are expensive. He would have to trade but it's the last year of several players on defense.

I dont see Paxton as a prototypical WC QB at all...Chiefs wanting him was just rumor...and they never confirmed it. They could have just as easily let this bogus information intentionally "slip out"... a little payback for Sanders.

It would be stupid for them the say one way or another...as baiting future drafts would no longer work.

You do realize coaching has a lot to do with QB development. His fate was sealed the day he was drafted.

PGM isn't in this thread yet? Would have lost a lot of money on that.

IDK why Trevor Jizz is so amusing to me. I guess it's the simplicity of it.

I think short term Semien is the better pick, he can manage the game and let the d do the heavy lifting.

Long term I'd rather roll with Lynch in that I don't think he's going to do much developing in the bench but who knows

It doesn't really matter. Lynch is a bust. The Broncos will be in the QB market again in 2018.

Siemian isn't the dumpster fire some of you guys are making him out to be. He lit our secondary up last year. And he can get better. He may not be a superstar, but he's more than serviceable. I'm thrilled that the Donks seem to have missed on the Lynch pick.

So glad they jumped in front of us to take lynch. We are so fortunate.

He might've lit us up the first game, but he was absolutely terrible in the second game. I expect him to look a lot more like the latter against us this season.
