What's wrong with the Bob Sutton scheme?

Set the talent level aside for a second. The scheme itself I contend is bunk. It appears to be a complete read & react defense. Sutton seems to "play not to lose" from a defensive aspect. Turnovers are what his scheme hinges on.

It just appears to be an indecisive scheme. Afraid to commit to attack the run or pass on any given play. It's like he's afraid to run blitz because it may not be a run. He's afraid to pass blitz because they may run the ball. His zone scheme does not seem to call for defenders manning up on offensive players in their zone.

I just can't get a read on what it is he is trying to do. It looks like he is trying to defend against everything all the time. It doesn't really come off that much different than the RAC 3-4.

Fuller is a slot corner, has always been a slot corner...problem is, Scandrick and Nelson are both slot corners, as well...and that's on Veach.

Hitchens played a LOT better next to Sean Lee...but I can't explain why he sucks so bad, but he takes bad angles and doesn't wrap up his tackles...

Same with Ragland, who looked waaaay better last year...

All I know is Tampa Bay came into today with a simplified defense and motivated players after firing Mike Smith and they performed much better as a unit.

And it took them 5 quarters to beat Cleveland.

Is that your measuring stick?

Blaming the defense for 4 turnovers? Ok.

The Chiefs D would do that too.

I'll blame a team coached by Hue Jackson.

Because Cleveland.

The Chiefs defense forced 5 turnovers vs Jax...

Because Bortles.

Goddamn, you've tunnel vision.

Against the Browns dude.

The Bengals, Patriots, Chargers and Steelers are all top 10 offenses.

The defense will likely look better when they aren’t playing the best every damn week.

I hate Bob Sutton because he is a narrow minded fool.

Im tired of hearing it is a lack of talent. How about having a ****ing coordinator that runs defenses according to the players strengths? He clearly doesn't do that.

This is an example of not putting your players in a postion to succeed. And that is a big reason why he is a bad coach that just needs to **** off from Arrowhead. Give him his gold watch, suitcase full of pudding and put him in a johnny knox retirement village. He is senile and needs to retire.

I wasn't talking about turnovers they forced, doofus. Buccaneers turned it over 4 times. Browns turned it over 0. The fact they were even in that game is a testament to how good that defense played today.

Correction: Browns muffed the punt near the end of overtime.

That's a legit complaint that seems to have followed him from NY. Regardless of who is playing, he runs the same scheme no tweaks.

No matter how you slice it, Sutton and a lot of the players have to go. It's a shame this defense is going to **** us much like they did against NE. We dodged huge bullets against LA, Den and SF for that matter.

Scrap Sutton, scrap the 3-4, scrap Houston, Ford and Berry. Just go to a 4-3, put Hitchens in the middle with KPass and O'Daniel and let Speaks play DE instead of LB.
