If he plays well and earns himself a bigger contract maybe we can all get paid back a little money. I’m all for Nigerian Princes finding their fortunes.

I'd definitely like to see him get another start.
You can tell luck from skill by its duration. Show us it was no accident, Prince.

i guess they gave him two pressures but that's still a shit ton better than Wyllie and if we suddenly have the answer at right tackle already on the roster I'm tickled

Wylie looks frantic and panicked on every snap because he knows he's literally always going against a far superior athlete and is fighting for his life every passing play. Again, that's not really his fault, but that's what it looks like when he's out there. |

No coincidence that most of the posters in this thread said that Snow White was their all-time most favorite in the costumes for Halloween thread.
Yeah, your prince will come.

Wylie has not played well, but right tackle isn't his position. It is PTW's, however, and he finally got a chance to play live snaps against a good Jaguars defensive line and he didn't have his name called (in a negative way) once. Zero penalties, and maybe one hurry, maybe.
How good was he, I went through his snaps. In the spoiler tag below, I show my work.
Spoiler!
TL;DR: He was almost completely protected by Reid's playcalls the entire game. The Chiefs rolled plays away from him, and when they didn't they gave him chips and help almost every play, and Mahomes was on a 2-second release count almost every time. PTW got a few downs where he was left to his own devices, but it was against lumbering 3-4 DEs or DTs (he held his own against them, so there's that). He had a couple true 1-on-1 downs against Travon Walker. He held up Walker once, but another time got bullrushed badly. That's as small a sample size as you're going to get, but the point is: you don't want to leave him on an island all day against DEs that know how to use power well. In the run game, he walled off Walker well for a run, and was otherwise just asked to downblock on DTs. There was an instance where the guy he was supposed to downblock (Folorunso Fatukasi) timed the snap well and sprang past PTW and notched a TFL. It is unquestionable that he is quicker than Wylie. He executed a reach block late in the game and looked good the one time he climbed to the second level for a linebacker. His biggest problem, really, is power. Walker not only has good speed but threatens with power and PTW struggled with that in the very small sample size that he had to. That's a problem a ton of tackles struggle with, and that's why Walker is so good. It's also why Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack are really good as well. So I really don't know if PTW is the season's solution at RT. But I do think he can be the solution next week against the Chargers -- Bosa is on IR, so you only have one of those beasts to deal with; you aren't going to have to sculpt everything around him all game like the Chiefs did against the Jaguars. This would be a great opportunity to give him four more quarters, dial back the assistance like 30%, and see how well he fares. After that, we can see. If he struggles, you'll have Niang in the wings with Wylie coming back at some point. |

Also, stunts are a problem with him, but that may be a chemistry issue more than anything.
He and Trey Smith gunked up the one true stunt they saw. His guy stunted towards the middle and he and Smith failed to hand off the rushers. Another stunt actually brought Ardon Key his way and I don't think he saw him, but Key chipped Kelce on his way so he couldn't get home in time. If I had that on tape for the Chargers I'd challenge them in stunts a ton. Something to watch for. |
