This is pretty interesting from Netflix. I didn’t follow it all that closely when it came out so a lot was new to me. Interviews with Conte, IRS agent who started the thing and a few others.

Conte still denies giving steroids to Bonds but thinks he took them.

What I had no idea about was he started as and still has a vitamin supplement line that is apparently worth millions, which was endorsed by top athletes in the past, including endorsed by some current top boxer.

I will just give a quick example for you from a different sport that might help explain easier. Remember how the Bronco’s Peyton Manning was in his next to last year? The he gets caught with “his wife’s PEDs” and suddenly he fell off a cliff his final season. He still had the mind and the tools, just his body was unable to perform at an elite level. With Bonds he got better, by a significant margin as he got to an age when he should have declined.

I would say there was a point in time where I became aware, but to understand the how big the problem was/is, I never knew.

My PCP back in the mid 2000's wanted to start giving my pain pills for every ache and pain that I had. I had to tell him several times I have no need for pain killers. Lucky for me that was a great choice.

My ex wife was put into pain management in the early 2010's and they would pump her up full of pain killers, then keep her up with Adderall. I'm surprised she is still alive to be honest.

Had a friend dating a woman that was full blown addicted to pain killers. Oxy's in particular. It was a miracle she made it to them splitting up.

Back in my early 20's I knew a couple guys who would take 7,8, 10 Lortabs or Percocet's and then go out for a night of drinking.

I'm am so glad I never made the same choices as some of the people from my past.

It’s a weird thing that you somehow are equating baseball to the WWE. People care about that stuff and consider sports more than just entertainment that everyone can cheat in.

Professional sports are entirely an entertainment product. Look no further than the NFL in that regard.

If it’s common accepted practice then basically being a pro, let alone top performers, will require steroids. But honestly it’s not worth going into this further because luckily it’s generally well established that your position is ridiculous and this won’t ever change.

That has to be one of the stupidest things ever posted. Steroids don't jump start your growth plates. I don't care how many of them you take either, you are not going to have Arnold like muscles without already having freakish genetics as a base to begin with.

What’s ridiculous about giving players choice? There were plenty of players who never took PEDs of any kind. There was no requirement to do or take anything.

There are so many shades of grey to this whole subject. Is stimulating the pituitary to create more HGH through late puberty OK? It's certainly never going to show on any blood test. How about using myostatin inhibitors? It will never show up. Those are little ways to get ahead right up to triple stacks with large doses of HGH. I don't know how you draw a line here. Choice would seem to be a common sense option. One thing I know is not allowing a player to use DMSO with at least Deca is just stupid. You heal much more rapidly. With as much as players put into this, teams invest as well as fans, it's just stupid.
