Zay Flowers

While Rice has been fine for a rookie 2nd round WR I just watch Zay Flowers and remember all the pre-draft smoke and think I wish Veach would have got a trade up done to grab him! What a talent!

But really, this is the best point to make in response to some of those complaints. God almighty the 2nd round was a shitshow for...god...15-20 years prior to Reid.

From about 1990 through Reid's first draft, we got, what, 5 real solid players? Maybe 2 genuinely good ones - Flowers and Hudson.

Since Reid got here we've gotten Morse, Jones, Gay, Creed, Bolton and Rice. Not to mention solid players like Hardman, Thornhill and probably Cook, who would've been grand slams compared to most of what we drafted in the 2nd for 20 friggen years.

Yeah - that's a real real real good point. The 2nd round was a house of horrors.
Brandon Flowers, Rodney Hudson and Tim Grunhard. Those are like the only ones that were any good for us before Andy Reid in about a 20 year period. Bernard Pollard I guess but he seemed to be better once he left KC.

hate the pick, no question.

But it's average by the standards of the previous years that preceded it.

Joe Valerio, Matt Blundin, Mike Cloud, Eddie Freeman, Kris Wilson, Spithood, Turk McBride, Javier Arenas, William Bartee.

I mean you have to figure he can have Kevin Lockett's career still, right? Dexter McCluster?

I'm gonna have to remind myself of this the next time he steps on his own dick trying to run a simple screen...

Watching Skyy's college tape there was nothing he did at an elite level except cutting. DB's know that and aren't afraid to get beaten over the top. It's as if they know what he's going to do before he does it, fools nobody.

Rice on the other hand did a number of elite things. Jumps through the roof, pretty fast, open field beast, a number of impressive contested catches. There's just more to the guy.
