He started all 16 games + 2 playoff games last year with no injury problems.

He didn't have any injury problems in college.

He had an ankle injury week one which has been re-aggravated during the season due to some unlucky hits (friendly fire in the case of Cam Erving), and then last night's injury was a fluke situation. QB's statistically rarely get injured on QB sneaks.

You don’t know what you are talking about. Mahomes would lower his shoulder into people in college. He is a very tough SOB and played through numerous injuries in college. Reid has tried to coach him out of the reckless approach from his earlier days.

So if he misses the next 4 games and comes back against the Raiders....he’ll have 5 games left of the regular season. If he continues at the pace he had before he left....he’ll end his season with the following stats.

3925 yards
27 TDs
2 INTS

In 12 games.

If it is 3 weeks, that may allow plenty of time for his ankle to heal as well.

The pro football doc is saying it's pretty much a given he'll need surgery at some point on it.

If the recovery time is three weeks, I think the Chiefs will hold him out until after the bye week.

The three week time-frame means that Mahomes would return for the Chargers game in Mexico City and I don't think the Chiefs would risk bringing Mahomes back for his first game on that questionable field situation.

In all seriousness here's hoping for the best for Mahomes. It's never good seeing someone get hurt and I'm always hopeful for a speedy recovery, both because the sport is better when talented people play, and because I don't want any excuses when the Patriots win in week 14. Good luck in the meantime, it'll make for a tougher road for sure, but good teams grow and improve from adversity. Here's hoping both teams get healthy over the next month or two and go into week 14 at 100%

Not true. In 2015 he played through a pretty messed up knee when reporters expected him to miss at least a few games. In 2016 he played with a broken wrist and a messed up throwing shoulder. His 800 yard game against OU featured the bad throwing shoulder. He is a very tough SOB and capable of performing at a high level even with injuries.
