Cardinals vs. Chicago at Wrigley Field Weekend Thread

I know you Cubbie fans got a a little thread going and we(who have won 10 WS since you have even been to one) have our own thread but I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread to talk smack about the this weekends series

Braden Looper
RH

ERA 4.29

Ted Lilly

Harden is an unbelievable pitcher...he was like that with the A's...he's just extremely injury prone. When he's healthy, there is NO doubt he is better than Big Z...but Big Z is never hurt...

Would I choose Big Z over Harden? Yes, 100 times out of 100...if they are both healthy and I need one to start a must win game...Harden. (With Big Z coming out the pen, of course)...

Harden is up there with guys like Santana, Peavy, Webb, Haren, Sabathia, that, when he's on, he's unhittable. And he's a strikeout machine.

If law of averages held true in baseball, when it mattered, the Cardinals would've been swept a few years ago rather than winning the worst World Series I've ever seen.
It's statistically insignificant which one I choose, though, as you've presented a classic gambler's fallacy.

He's challenged so much because his zone rating is awful...he misplays a ball a game it seems...

If he caught everything in site and got a good jump here and there, his assists would go down, duh.

All I said, from the very beginning was...he's a lousy fielder (one of the worst) with a great outfield arm. And that's 100% true.

When Anthony Reyes was on he was unhittable. If you're gonna go with that bullshit, Carpenter belongs in that category *gasp* when healthy.

!

As a fan, as a FAN of a team...you'd choose to have your team choose their destiny...any fan would...without a doubt...take the 97 win team. 100 times out of 100.

You can't answer because you know that, when it comes down to it, and everyone is figuring out who needs to win what to get into the postseason...the loss column becomes more important than the games back column.

Yeah, you can lump Carpenter in with the elite, he won a Cy Young for god's sake...

There are about 15 pitchers who are truly elite, if not a few more...and Harden is one of them.

And if he could stay healthy, he'd be Tim Lincecum.

You all play the same number of games and there are no ties. It means nothing.

I love Lincecum...lost me money his first game up last year against Cole Hamels...I bet the under at 7.5...thought it was a lock. The game was 4-4 after 3 innings...

He's one of my favorites...him and Volquez...and I've been on the Josh Hamilton bandwagon before the homerun derby made him everyones favorite player

Hootie,

You can blow hard, yell, scream all you want to how your team is the best in baseball. And they may be but the team has a history of folding under pressure.

For crissakes you won the division last year and lost 3 strraight playoff games and went home. You play how many more games this year against the Bucks and Cards? You finish with 16 out of 22 road games. I wouldn't be thinking its a done deal that you will be raising that WS trophy at Wrigley yet pal.

Why are you trying to put a spin on the scenario? It's stupid...

If you had a choice between the two, you'd take the 97 wins and choose your own destiny...you know it, I know it, it's common sense.
