Football Week 13 Rooting Guide (and now "other games thread") - Page 30

I had this brilliant idea to use cdcox's software to put together a guide for who we should be rooting for to best help the Chiefs chances of making the playoffs. I always like stuff like that because it helps to tease out some of the nuances that you probably wouldn't have guessed:

The main one that's interesting to me in that is the Chargers game. Who would have thought that it's actually in our best interests for the Chargers to win today? That's mainly because the Chargers have a BRUTAL schedule to end the season, so it's unlikely they're going to be a threat for the WC spot anyway, so it's better for them to win now and take the Ravens down a notch.

(I should probably add that games not listed have essentially zero impact on our playoff chances.)

I was very proud of the great insight I gleaned from this analysis. That is...until I ran it with the Chiefs/Broncos game in there:

So basically, we can root for other teams all we want, but nothing matters NEAR as much as just taking care of our own business.

Brady is old and still has tremendous passion. He could have checked it in a while ago as he'll be loved for what he's already done.

Yeah I've been hearing that all day. Floyd didn't touch the defender until he was being held down. Also the Ravens got 3 PI's on long passes in the end zone today.

He has more receptions this year than he had all of last year already. He just hadn't been catching TD's until recently.

Can someone post the playoff scenarios with a Chiefs win & loss.

8-4: tied for the division
7-5: out of the playoffs

Is that close?

Pats were lucky to only lose by 5. Can't go on the road against the league's best QB, undefeated at home, and give up almost 500 yards and score after score.

Now we Pats fans need KC to beat Denver (tying both with SD at 8-4). Then the Pats need to beat SD next week. Denver has back to back road games at SD and Cincy and if they drop one then KC's in the driver's seat in the AFCW.

You must have the app open from earlier in the day.

I decided to fix a small error in the 3-way head-to-head conference tiebreaker today. I accidentally screwed up one the key files and the app wouldn't display two most critical screens and the app was broke for a couple of hours.
