Andrew Luck Retires

Filed to ESPN: Andrew Luck has informed the Colts he is retiring from the NFL, per source. There will be a press conference Sunday to make it official, but Luck is mentally worn down, and now checking out.

Think about being one of Luck's teammates - they all have ailments, too.

You can barely walk into the training room on Monday morning. You just lost by 21 points yesterday. Your team is headed for the #1 pick.

You could quit, but you love the game, and you need the money - you're not particularly bright, didn't get your degree, etc etc etc.

Meanwhile, Andrew Luck is lighting cigars with Polian's cash on a boat in the Caribbean, getting a BJ.

Yeah, I'd say there are a whole lot of people in Indianapolis who aren't white knighting Andy Luck today.

I guess he got what he wanted, but in the process, a lot of other people got SCREWED.

Unless actual evidence comes out that his future was in serious doubt - like Alex - this guy is just a quitter.

Colts won’t recoup 24.8 million from Luck, which they could if they wanted too.

What sticks out to me is, they reached this agreement LAST WEEK. This has been in the works for awhile now.

Luck would take them to court.

The Lucks have very deep pockets. Would not be a pleasant court battle and the Colts would end up looking bad.

How do people not see the difference between feeling sorry for someone and understanding why they made a decision?

Its not the same ****ing thing. No one feels sorry for Luck what you feel bad about is wasted potential.

Bullshit. They may be paid well, but not the golden parachute Luck has.

They don't. But they have enough they could make it very, very difficult for the Colts to get that money, and do a lot of PR damage in the process.

Wouldn't be worth it, and I'm guessing it would not be hard for them to show via Luck's injuries that he was entitled to it.

So he was hurt enough in your opinion to be entitled to the money but he's a giant pussy for retiring?

Makes total sense...

Can you imagine what they would have done to him in Philly or New York.

He's not entitled to it. He's a quitter. That is my opinion.

But I'm certain he feels otherwise and would attempt to prove so in court.
