I really don’t pay much attention to the numbers games of this part of the season. How many WRs do we typically keep? And are there any WRs who are likely to make the roster as mainly ST contributors?

Based on my limited knowledge, I’d say the locks are MVS, Moore, Rice and Toney. I cannot see any scenario in which any of those guys don’t make the final roster.

I think I’d put James and Watson just below that group. James is a vet, of which we are in dire need, and Watson is familiar/can contribute on ST. I think it’s likely that both make the roster, but wouldn’t be surprised if only one is kept. I could see us holding onto one of these guys and taking a flyer on one of the three from the next tier down.

I guess I’d put Ross, Ihmin-Marsette and Remigio down here. Ross has the most WR potential, Remigio the most potential as a returner, and Ihmin-Marsette is likely just a career STer.

Can’t keep all of them..

He had 700 last year. I think he gets thrusted into a more prominent role and I’m expecting about 800 from him this season.

I may be disappointed but I do agree that I can’t really see him contributing less than 500 yards assuming he stays healthy all year.

I just can't see them letting Ross go at this point. Maybe I'm drinking the Kool Aid too much but there's just too much there.

Barring injury, he’s making the team. We keep 7. Extra one takes the former fullback position.

Wow, I just looked into it and we only kept 5 WRs on the initial 53-man roster back in August of 2022.

WR - JuJu Smith-Schuster, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Mecole Hardman, Skyy Moore, Justin Watson

Like I said, your locks have to be MVS ($10m dead cap hit), Toney (cost a 3), Moore (2nd rounder), and Rice (2nd rounder). We’ve got too much invested in these guys to let any walk this season.

IF we only hang on to 5 WRs again this year, you’ll have to take your pick between Ross, James, Watson and Remigio. What do you do then?

If we keep more than 5 WRs, obviously you have a little more wiggle room but what other position group suffers for it? Especially with the new QB rule. I’m not sure if Andy is planning on keeping 3 QBs now or not.

we are keeping 7. Way more talent in this years group. None will make it to the practice squad.

We need injury coverage and we need every one of those 7 WR’s.

They carried 4 TE and a FB last year, I think Bell will be the full back hybrid so there's instantly 1 more spot, they will take at least 6 WRs but probably 7 I thnk

Watching the preseason game, it was nuts to see how effective all the receivers were.

I loved what Ross, Rice, and James showed. I think all 3 are going to make big contributions.

Remigio flashed, too. But even Cornell Powell looked good.

I think with the number of WRs we have this year and barring the injury issues we had last year, his numbers will likely go down. He's just not a every down threat so for him to have 800, it would mean we're just lighting it up over the top like in 2018 and I don't think that's what we're going to do.

Snap counts. Unfortunately I think based on this Watson is a lock.
