This is tying his teammates hands behind their backs and holding the fans hostage hoping the team loses without him. **** all of that.
I would agree with you

One thing we know by now about Veach is that he doesn't blink. You're not going to hold his feet to the fire and get what you want.

Jones has probably gotten himself shipped off next off-season, no matter when he comes in.

The Chiefs don't really need Jones until the postseason.

And if he waits half a year to report he's jepoardizing his next contact big time, unless he's a VERY rare physical specimen like Derrick Thomas, who can just roll out of bed and be great.

Bottom line he needs the Chiefs a lot more than they need him at this point in time.

I don't disagree, but I don't think he knows that.

Veach isn't going to screw the team with one guys contract in the Mahones years. Only Mahomes can get what he wants.

Alex Smith could win us 12 or so games a year. He just couldn't win the last 3 to 4. Mahomes can win those last 3 or 4. So 3.5 seems accurate.

ya he's starting to piss me off a little bit. He was always talking about how much he loves KC and everything and he did sign that contract, he should honor it...

It would be a little different if he were tagged or something but this is the final year of the contract that he signed.

He’s the second or third highest paid defender in 3023. Cap number almost 30m.

If he sits out, **** em. Let him throw his paychecks in the fireplace if he wants. Pay him half the year and then tag his ass for under 25m and if he sits out again, he’s a FA the following year at 32 years old snd a malcontent.

Or you can stop being a damn idiot, show up for the team paying you as an elite player and earn a top of market deal as a free agent during the year or in the offseason get traded for top value to a team that really wants to pay you what you want while sending KC sone draft picks.

But you won’t hold Veach/Clark/Reid hostage while they have Mahomes at QB.

How many times has sitting out into the season benefitted the player?

Only time I can remember it working was Emmitt Smith back in 1993, but there was the Jerry Jones element at work in that case.

Funny how times have changed. He held out to get a $13/4 year deal lolz
