NFL is Rigged: Week 18 edition

The CP consensus is that the NFL is rigged. Welp, as such, I think it’d be great to discuss this week’s script.

The NFL is rigged, so this should be easy. As easy as predicting a WWE In-Ring interview being rudely interrupted by a rival with a steel chair.

Call your shot, what kind of week 18 shenanigans is the NFL up to?

Las Vegas vs L.A: Which new stadium does the NFL prefer? TWO teams in L.A make the playoffs?

Will the NFL write in a tie game sending BOTH to the playoffs?

Will they sneak the Steelers in for one last hoorah for Ruthlessraper?

Or will they write in Lamar Jackson because he generates ratings?

Will they give the most prestigious player (Mahomes) the #1 seed, or do they want to see the Chiefs in the WC round for extra ratings?

The Cards need to get better actors. They gave up some huge plays in the 4th quarter on the ground in obvious run situations, plus had some horrid play calling down the stretch.

90 seconds left, 1st and goal? Run a naked screen while the defense is pulled in tight, keep that clock running after no gain!

If someone said the Cards legit threw that game, I would believe it.

The Bucs/Eagles..I'm retracting any prediction. Thought maybe the Rams getting the 49ers in would be repaid with a Bucs loss...then I remembered Brady's wife is a high-ranking witch.

Steering clear of anything concerning her...her husband looks 30 years old.

After the ref shenanigans of last week i think every team in the league received a memo from the league: Stick to the script or get black balled.

The ref's are the league's cleanup crew when the players and coaches aren't getting it done.

This week, the players and coaches handled their business as they scripted.

AHEM: Melvin Gordon's game changing giveaway for example....

I haven't played out all the scenarios yet. I'm still combing through last week's script. I'll let you know what i decide by midweek. I hope you've settled on an answer too.

Holding back our thoughts only further keeps the sheep in the dark. That's selfish and unjust.

I originally assumed the Saints would be sacrificed, thus allowing SF in. But forcing AZ to lose so that the 49ers could get in with a W, w/o sacrificing L.A's #1 seed was quit frankly a stroke of genius. And now you get a high rating, west coast divisional show down out of it too.

Pure genius.

Both teams werent going anywhere....they killed like 5 birds with one sacrifice.

It set up the season finale...every Steelers' fan in existence was glued to that game.

You're fired...for gross negligence.

I said before the games even started that the Indy/Jags game was an ace card....I was 50/50 on if they could actually pull it off.

The Rams losing at home is the most interesting...combined with the Cards also losing at home. That has ****ery written all over it...
So, how did they pull it off? The Indy game, I mean.

But once again, I spent about 10 hours watching the games yesterday and saw no calls even remotely similar to what we saw in the Chiefs/Bengals game.

Maybe they know we are on to them?

Admittedly, not a raiders fan at all.

But IMOH, that was just a terrible call. Carr had scrambled out of the pocket under duress, threw the ball high and far toward the left EZ pylon while Jackson was running what appeared to be a post. (I don’t have the video so forgive if I’m incorrect on that).
Jones (?) finds the ball and then gets tangled up with the DB. Flag flies. PI.

I just didn’t think it should have been called. You saw it different. All good.

Rams dropped to the 4th seed...giving up a potential 2nd home game at SoFi for Brady...who now has the #2....everything "magically" seems to always work out for him.

I'm not touching anything concerning those two freaks...if it were any other QB in the #2 seed, I would take the Eagles...which would get LA another home game.

So, basically, to claim rigged, all you have to do is come up with some random reason, after each game is over, as to why it ended the way it did.

Money. Ratings. Farewell to HOF QB. Build up a Babe Ruth Character. Etcetera.

And you can claim different people are in on the scam, based on the scenario.

One ref. Whole ref crew. Goodell. The players and Coaches.

And none of your explanations never really have to match up with each other in regards to any big picture.

Does that about sum up where we are with the rigging talk? Because that's what I've gathered from this thread.

Sorry, lost in my own thoughts.

To address your points, im not sure the Manning thing applies here. Manning was far more commercial than Ben. Ben, after the rape allegations, hasn't really been in favor of the league.

He doesn't get endorsements and they basically wrote him out of the league these last two years. Im not sure that theory holds up.

I have a STRONG theory of what occurred here. But i am saving it for the WC round discussion thread.

We have to understand that these games are rigged at minimum a season or two in advance. We have to think big picture here.

None of this, "Because the Rooney's want Big Ben in the HoF" stuff that BlackOp threw on the table. That's some seriously small fry shit.
