OP first said that his WAR was 7 according to one site. Then another site had it at 3.5 and he accepted that.

Point is, WAR is a difficult stat for QBs, and that's probably the easiest position. Dominant DTs? Impossible.

For the record, I think Mahomes feels more like a 5 WAR.

In the old days this would have a lot of us screaming bloody murder about the defense.

These days it makes me think Veach has a pretty good plan, because he surely anticipated this.

My guess is they went into training camp feeling pretty good about Omenihu, Karlaftis, Felix, with Wharton and possibly Coburn being key contributors to round out the group.

Like the Chiefs receivers last year they are going to count on the group being more than the sum of it's parts.

I'm betting on Veach.

I seriously hope Veach didn't go into this thinking Omenihu would plug the gap if CJ held out.

And I really hope if he felt CJ was likely to hold out then he would've been traded.

I'd be shocked if this were any more than a 10-15% probability for Veach back around the draft.

I expect some high scoring games this year for the Chiefs. Later Chris Jones.

Actually my thoughts exactly. You keep 10 players on the OLINE and 7 WRs. I have to think that the Chiefs are going to try and replicate Mahomes 2018 season with 50 plus TDs. The O needs to compensate for the lack on the D.

They definitely knew about the suspension before signing. He was priced accordingly. And I think schefter or rappaport mentioned that they knew when it was announced.

Have there been any reports about if Jones is training? I mean beyond just lifting and the basics, is he doing anything extra to get in football shape? I don’t see how he just goes out there and plays without any football activity. That’s just asking for a torn ACL.

I’d say at this point, week one is not happening no matter what.

That was kinda my point. Clay was on drugs thinking that this situation with CJ was expected and Omenihu was any part of the cure.
