Colorado's schedule is pretty rough. Especially nowadays where teams are playing 30+ games and the non-conf is now half your schedule. You could probably make a case their non-conference was worse than some of the low-major conference schedules.

Just got home, looks like SDSU got a 2 in the West.
Haven't really scoured the brackets, but I'm pretty sure that the West is ****ing stacked compared to the other regions. I'm ****ing stoked, if we are going to make it to the elite 8 we'll have to knock off UConn (sorry Mizzou fans)...at least we'll see if we are for real. **** yeah, I am so excited! |

If I was to rank the paths of the #1's from most to least difficult, I'd go Ohio St.'s East, KU's Southwest, Duke's West, and Pittsburgh's Southeast.
So pretty much the opposite of what it should be. |

I think Ohio State actually has an easy path.

Ohio State has 8 potential opponents in the top 30 in KenPom, the rest of the #1's have 5 or 6. Statistically, that's pretty tough.

Forget Colorado and those other shitty teams. I'm more confused on how Kansas didn't get the #1 overall seed.

Duke's potential opponents by KenPom:
Two teams in the top 10 (Texas, San Diego St), three in the top 20 (+UConn), five in the top 30 (+Cinci and Arizona). Pittsburgh's potential opponents by KenPom: One team in the top 10 (Wisconsin), Five teams in the top 20 (+BYU, Florida, Utah St, Belmont), Seven teams in the top 30 (+Gonzaga and KSU) Ohio State's potential opponents by KenPom: One team in the top 10 (Kentucky), Four teams in the top 20 (+Cuse, UNC, Wash), eight teams in the top 30 (+WVU, GMU, Villanova, Clemson). KU's potential opponents by KenPom: Two teams in the top 10 (Purdue, Notre Dame), Four teams in the top 20 (+Louisville, Illinois), Five teams in the top 30 (+UNLV) Ohio State may not have a lot of elite teams in their bracket, but they have a ton of good ones. Duke doesn't have a lot of threats, but two elite teams that could knock them out (Texas, SDSU). |
