The Chiefs are 8-2 with Hochuli in the Mahomes era, including 2-0 in the playoffs.

Whatever works for their motivation, I guess.

The Bengals winning in the AFCCG last year would have gotten me there... I didn't really care about the regular season losses, but then lose a 2nd AFCCG and it starts to get extreme.

Not sure how much Mahomes cares about the Bills winning a couple regular season games when he's 3-3 overall and 2-0 in the playoffs. I personally don't care nearly as much this time if the Bills get theirs in the playoffs for the first time, but if that stat is grinding Mahomes' gears, whatever helps.

I think he lack of a road playoff win and being the villain will be plenty to get Mahomes laser focused. Same with the rest of the team.

Hochuli is aight in my book. At least we can be assured the refs won't affect the outcome. Team is fully healthy, aside from Cook. I can taste the victory.

I would hope like hell the coaches are aware of it and drilling it into all of the players this week. And of course, Mahomes cannot do it by himself. The Toney offsides penalty last time against Buffalo is the kind of back-breaking mistake that they cannot afford if they want to win games against good teams.

It was a fake slide, that video is a shitty angle. Josh slows clear down and his shoulders go back well behind his feet, the defenders pull up and he then takes off. It was bullshit. Also, on the roughing penalty on his next slide, they should not get protection from sliding if it is a designed running play.

Seems like the defender most likely to tackle him read it as a juke though.. typically a defender will continue running at a QB who's sliding and then jump over them or whatever, while that guy pulled up and acted like he was trying to contain.... I dunno, I don't think it was terrible.

You also have to consider the history of the player. I cannot think of one time Allen has slid when the defenders were not right on him. He looks for contact vs avoiding it.

Yeah, and I'm not worried about it at all... being in the playoffs is enough for Mahomes, it's what he lives for.

This talk about "who wants it more" gets silly at a certain point this time of year for teams that truly know what it takes ... and people tend to act like there's some unlimited supply of motivation and focus to tap into.

Like when people used to say "I watch the 50 years of shit football to make the Super Bowl wins that much better!!" ...dude, unless you're in a continuous orgasm for 6 days, there's no extra super duper excited.

Once you decide to be a RB and get within a certain distance of the defender, you should NEVER be allowed to slide and use that as some sort of defense against a late hit. F that. You are either a RB or a QB that's running. If it's the former, then all bets are off. If it's the latter, then you better have your feet and ass sliding well before the defender gets there.

Yeah, that's an ongoing challenge year to year, as you know Mahomes will be locked in, this year's defense will be locked in.... but then you have head-in-ass plays like MVS and Hardman this past weekend, and someone like Taylor who continues to do stupid shit.

It's not as easy to say "the team" will be locked in as old champs leave and new guys come in who haven't been there.

Allen had zero turnovers. He’s definitely making up for that in this game.
