Andrew Luck Retires

Filed to ESPN: Andrew Luck has informed the Colts he is retiring from the NFL, per source. There will be a press conference Sunday to make it official, but Luck is mentally worn down, and now checking out.

Not that it wasn't mostly settled anyway, but this definitely settles it: Russell Wilson>Andrew Luck.

The druggie owner probably authorized the info leak. He seems like he could be the vindictive type based on previous stuff in his past.

You can’t predict injuries, but I really think RG3 could have been something special.

I never felt so sure about a QB prospect as I did those two. Luck had the brain, perfect size, and a great arm. RGIII had the brain, the arm, and ran a damn 4.3.

Those franchises really botched both of those situations. RGIII was never the same after going back into that playoff game. Meanwhile, Luck's troubles due to shitty franchise management have been well documented.

Though I will say neither one was very wise in the amount and types of hits they were taking. Luck is built like a LB and runs as fast as one but he's not Superman. RGIII never had the size and yet he basically never slid or ran out of bounds.

Pat last night reminded me of those dumbasses. Just take your dumb ass to the ground and get them next play.

As it stands, Russell Wilson is the only young QB I've seen actually avoid those hits.

This will be Luck's legacy, for decades and decades. Unless he pulls a Harbaugh and turns into a decent coach later in life.

I agree with Goetlib (hard to say). Luck is a millennial poster-boy. As is Trent Williams. Redskins gave Trent EVERY chance and he still stabbed them in the back, and all because they made him operate as a power blocker for one year... No matter how many times he got popped for getting high they still paid the malcontent. Luck is an idential use case of mellinial me+me+me. Both waited until the worst possible moment to bend their teams over the barrel.
