I like the idea of the rolling roof that was talked about 15-20 years ago for both venues. I'm sure it has been discussed on here.

But one of the most fun games I've ever been too was last years playoff game. Granted if the game had went differently, I would feel not the same. But playing (watching: I didn't actually play -- well throwing the football around during tailgating) in the snow was so much fun and adding a "football" feel..

The rolling roof is a great idea, however the design from the 70s is ugly as shit so maybe make it look a LOT better and I'd be into it.

I'd be terrified to have it in Los Angeles, however, talk about an earthquake nightmare

Whenever the playoffs come around, I think back to that 1993 game. Cold as Fug. The gatorade was freezing and the balls were frozen. But Marty kept insisting on kicking field goals!

Think about what a sizable advantage we might have in future postseason games, where the snow makes Mahomes better and effectively eviscerates less able QBs.

I'm pretty sure the snow also made Denver play predominantly zone defense, which made it even easier for him.

Let me ask you this:

The Chiefs are in the AFC Championship Game in Arrowhead. The temp is below 30, and it's snowing. The game is close, and the Chiefs need a TD on the last drive of the game.

It's 4th and 10, and the opposing defense blitzes, and Mahomes throws short because that's all he had time to do. Hill catches the ball, and it looks like all he has to do is turn up field and not only will he get the first down, but he will likely score the game winning TD.

But, because Hill is so fast, he cuts too sharply, and slips in the snow a yard short of the 1st down. Game over.

Are you gonna say, at least we played in the elements, the way real football is played. Or are you going to be pissed off that we lost the chance to win a SB because it snowed, and made the field less than ideal?

Has this scenario ever occurred in a conference championship game? Plenty of them have been played outside. I can’t recall one that played out like this. Even if it played out exactly how you describe, the narrative would not be “if only we played indoors” it would be “why the **** did we get into a position against a team we were favored over, to need a desperation drive to make the Super Bowl?”

What if we're the ones that benefit from the slipping receiver because we're on the other side of that? Or what if we had the dome and the receiver didn't slip...then we'd be thinking "oh man, wish we'd have never put that dome up. Then maybe he would have slipped and we'd have won!"

Or are you going to be a scaredy-cat and cry about hypothetical bullshit?

**** that shit.

Just as likely, Tyreek cuts up field and the defender falls down. You can go a million ways with hypothetical crap.

Domes are for pussies.

Dome teams historically don't do as well in the playoffs. Some can't play outdoors hardly at all.

And Arrowhead is one of the stadiums that other teams just don't want to play in come January. Arrowhead exerts its own personality on a playoff game. As does Lambeau, Gillette or Soldier Field.

A dome would be nice, but it would also lack the same "Arrowhead" personality, IMO.

Screw it. I love Arrowhead. Leave it the way I found it 40 years ago.

The Chiefs history in home playoff games says otherwise.

Where in my post did I mention record?

In fact, if you read the thing with any degree of discernment it'd be clear that I was talking specifically about the atmosphere or certain stadiums, and I included Arrowhead along with the others. And Arrowhead has always been one of the tougher places for visiting teams to play, mostly because of the noise, but also because it's an outdoor venue, inviting whatever the weather brings to the game. And that's what I meant about its personality.

Let me try to help you out here.

No one wants to go to cold, snowy outdoor stadiums in the winter, for obvious reasons. There are no indoor stadiums that anyone is afraid of going into, with the lone except of the Saints Superdome. And the Superdome's only fear factor is the noise.

All the other stadiums in the NFL that teams don't want to play in are outdoor venues, like Arrowhead. And Lambeau. And Soldier Field. Etc.

And no one cares bout what our record is in the playoffs, except overly pessimistic fans. Coaches and players only look at the challenges of playing in someone else's stadium.

And every player/coach knows that Arrowhead is very loud, and very cold and very windy in December/January. With a high possibility of snow, etc.

And now our QB has proven without a doubt that he lovers playing the snow.

And who gives a rat's ass what our record was BPMII in the playoffs? Because I assure you that no one in the NFL cares at all. What they're looking at is Arrowhead has always been a tough place to play, worse late in the year, and now we have a QB that plays just as well in the snow as he does in 80 degree weather.

Think that's a HFA? More importantly, think the rest of the NFL sees that as an advantage?

Like anyone ever said, "Arrowhead is a tough place to play September thru November, but it's a walk in the park when it gets really cold, windy and snowy in December and January . . ."

I mean the biggest advantage we have is our fans and how loud they are. They're not quite as loud when 25% of them are missing and the rest are wearing gloves which muffle their clapping and seat banging and can't yell as loud because of the cold/wind.

Imagine how much louder Arrowhead would be if the sound couldn't escape in the open air.
